"One of the first things you need to know about Doel is that it’s not a ghost town and never was. It is still inhabited, albeit by only 18 people (counted in 2020), when just 20 years earlier that number was over 800. So what happened?
‍
It all started in the sixties, when plans for industrial expansion were on the horizon. The harbour of Antwerp would extend its grounds and Doel was supposed to have disappeared for it, as villagers were ordered a building ban before constructions had even started. This would mark the beginning of the small town’s tumultuous history."

I had the honour of playing after @veldvolpostelein and before the wonderful live of @hame-compathy and dj sets by @seduction-dream-dust, @technosbnc, @gieglingdustin and @lola-haro at the first Doel Festival ever this year. A new festival created by the dream team of @klubdramatik and @paradise-city-festival. They did an amazing job putting this endeavour together and getting things moving. 

It was an otherworldly and much anticipated experience. Picture a sci-fi environment on a showery day. Cold, dark and wet. Beautiful scenery and details all around. The people there were driven, full of love and ready to dance. A real dedicated crowd. Respect!!! <3

No stranger to Delayed is our focus for today, as we’re happy to feature the sounds of Christopher Ledger. His productions, remixes, and edits never stray far from the crates or conversations around tracks with an incredible groove, or that age so so well. Not only to add to the quality are the breadth of releases that he’s accrued over the years. Working through ambient, to breaks and minimal house and back again. You can just tell how his passion for the craft is the guiding hand.

As with his productions, his selections for today are top notch, leading to one of those mixes that will keep your head nodding along for the duration. Full to the brim with that signature dance ready style that we’ve come to know and love with the Italian DJ and producer.
