Kim is a singer/songwriter based in Wellington.  His music music is reminiscent of Elliot Smith, The Sundays and various Finn family members.  Half told stories, hung off melodies that are hard to shake... Kim's brand of bitter-sweet folk/pop music is just plain pretty.

Kim has been writing, recording and performing his music for over 20 years.  Since an intense two years working with his previous band "Jennifer Says", Kim has been distracted by his work as a comedian and variety entertainer, but he has returned to the musical side of the industry with his debut solo album Cold Since June (2010)

Jennifer Says was active from 1999 until 2001.  During that time, they played extensively around Wellington, placing 2nd in the Temple Bar singer songwriter grand final.  The band also appeared live on "Space" (TV2) with the song Right Here.
 
Kim's song "Metronome"  sat at number 1 on Palmberston North's Vision 100 FM, and was featured on the South Pacific Pictures series "Mercy Peak" (2001 - 2003).

The self produced album sports a possible over indulgence of synths and loops, but the result is a rich and vibrant collection of smartly crafted pop/folk songs.

Kim has already largely completed a follow up album, (his third, including Jennifer Says' "Regular Tones" (2000) ) with much more of a stripped back folk feel to it, focusing on guitars and vocals.

In fact, in the grand scheme of house music, he is revered as one of the world’s best Producer/ Remixer/ DJs, as well as one of the original architects of the sound that now dominates dance floors all over the world. With such experience and talent, it’s no wonder that Maurice won a Grammy Award for his remix of Beyonce's Crazy In Love in 2004.

Rosy Tin Teacaddy are a folktronica duo from Wellington highly regarded for their on-stage symmetry and harmonic blend of voices. Formed in 2007, Rosy Tin Teacaddy have built a reputation for narrative songwriting; smartly lyrical with sly wit and poignancy. Their debut EP, Blind Leading The Blind opened to audiences with a sold-out theatrical show. Their following full-length album, The Homeward Stretch was recorded with multi-award winner Lee Prebble, and was warmly received by critics. In 2010 the pair were awarded a Wild Creations artists-in-residency grant from Creative NZ and the Department of Conservation. This saw them in song-writing exile for six weeks on the shores of Lake Tarawera where they researched, wrote and recorded their translations of local history and isolation in a site-responsive manner. The resulting album, All Mountains Are Men was released in June 2011. Rosy Tin Teacaddy are currently modernising their live sound to incorporate the layers of electronica present in their albums and also writing new material.

Musically, the multiplatinum GRAMMY® Award-nominated trio of Southern California sisters Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim trace a winding path through genres and musical eras—similar to how Ventura Boulevard paves its way through a myriad of Los Angeles suburbs and neighborhoods. In July 2011 Hannah Howes drove 6000km around Europe, performing at festivals and boutique venues in nine European countries with Ben Lemi. Two months earlier she traveled by shinkansen across Honshu and Kyushu, with a guitar on her back and a film crew in tow, playing to appreciative live houses and to Kyotos underground artists, played solo between rock acts in Kuala Lumpur and dealt some healthy tunes to Singaporeans on a diet of fizzy-pop music. 

Hannah Howes has played at most major New Zealand festivals since 2004 (Rippon Afterparty, Destinations, Soundsplash, Kaikoura Roots, Nelson Arts, Dunedin Fringe, Parihaka International Peace Festival, Riverside Music Festival, Eudaemony Solstice, Newtown Festival, Cause, Uprising and more.) She has toured her homeland a dozen times and celebrated three independently released albums, distributed through Rhythmethod Distribution in NZ. In 2009 she played a series of sold-out shows in Japan, and recorded with Tokyo based label, ‘Apple Paint Factory’ and securing distribution through Dub Store Sound Inc (Japan).

Howes’ NZ airplay skyrocketed in 2004 when she performed the festival circuit as MC-sing-J ‘Sista Mischief’ with roots DJs and breaks producer, Ecophonik, and released her debut album ‘Patchwork Quilt’ in the same year, also getting play listed in Australia. Noted as a female role model in a male-dominated reggae scene she performed a number of reggae festivals and support slots wowing audiences as a soloist before headliners, including Cornerstone Roots and Wicked Draw. The combination of ‘troubadour’ lyrics, reggae rhythms, social commentary and dub effects, earned her status as ‘the inventor of a new genre of music- ‘folk-dub’ after the release of her first live album, recorded at Wellington’s Bodega Bar in 2005.

In April 2009, Howes produced and released her ‘Candy’ LP in New Zealand, featuring fourteen of NZ’s most sought after musicians from the alt country, hip-hop, reggae, iwi and roots arenas. Engineered by Lee Prebble (Best Engineer 2010, NZ Music Awards) at ‘The Surgery’ and mastered by Don Bartley (Australia) at Benchmark, the album received rave reviews, with Radio NZ National’s Manu Taylor stating:
