Dan Cooke / Aldinach – Artist Bio

Originally born in Germany, Dan Cooke moved to England in 2000 and grew up in the city of Norwich. It was during his early years there that he discovered Radio 538's Dance Department, sparking a lifelong passion for electronic music. This formative influence led him to start DJing, producing music, and immersing himself in the underground dance scene.

Driven by a desire to pursue music professionally, Dan relocated from Norwich to Manchester. Within his first year in the city, he became involved with prominent local collectives such as In The Know, Nacht, and Concept Audio Collective—supporting acclaimed artists like I AM BAM, REBEKAH, and JACKY.

Building on that momentum, Dan joined the Underground Kollektiv radio team, where he now hosts a regular show that showcases his evolving sound. His work with the collective has earned him multiple Top 5 spots on Mixcloud and even led to opportunities to perform at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event).

Dan expresses his dual musical identity through two distinct aliases. Under Dan Cooke, he explores groovy, minimal, and deep tech sounds—capturing the energy of summer parties, including several performances across Barcelona in 2022. On the flip side, his alter ego Aldinach delves into a darker realm of hard, raw, and deep techno. This contrast allows him to maintain a clear creative direction while exploring the full spectrum of his musical vision.

While in Barcelona, Dan also collaborated with DJ Uboo and performed at Recreo BCN, further expanding his international presence.

Whether it's under Dan Cooke or Aldinach, his sets are marked by a distinctive style and an authentic connection to the underground scene.

Hailing from the bustling party town of Maidstone in Kent, John Wells; the founding father of Illuminati started his musical journey from a tender age, swapping bedtime stories for house, techno, reggae and soul.
Fast forward to the age of 18 and "Ryse" was performing at London’s elite underground clubs. Area in Vauxhall, Fire & Lightbox and Egg became his regular haunts, alongside international bookings at the epicentre of dance music; Ibiza.
2012 marked the next phase in his love affair with the rave industry, trying his hand as a party promoter and landing a host of heavyweight shows. Not satisfied with just DJing and promoting, JR Wells delved into the studio and learnt the art of production. A series of eclectic productions have since followed, all of which embody his broad musical taste designed to make sound systems rumble.

Exposed to electronic music at a young age through his brother’s mixtapes, Ed quickly developed a deep curiosity that led him to Brighton’s record shops and jungle scene. Over time, he immersed himself in running and supporting local events, which naturally evolved into a passion for production and exploring diverse genres.

Having played in the UK, Amsterdam, Asia, and beyond, Ed spent several years in Bangkok, where he connected with the city’s growing music scene and refined his eclectic taste. Now back in the UK, his ever-evolving breakbeat-infused sound reflects a love for curveballs, classics, and hidden gems.

Through his Hand In Hand parties and label, Ed focuses on spreading a genuine appreciation for music—free from ego or pretence. With releases on labels like Habits, Jerk It, and Minimo, and upcoming projects with System Error, Ed’s dedication to music remains as strong as ever.

Each have a time and a place and Joel takes pride in the manor his digital library is organized, allowing an easy tailored selection of beats to provide for each and every gig 😏


That being said, Bouncy Deep Tech with strong rolly baselines are favourite choices he loves to play for the dance’ providing an array of powerful bass driven tracks with swingy drums and stabby chords.
Plus with the occasional use of dubby Urban/Grime remix's and acapellas blended in his sets, Joel's experimental side is commonly at hand to add something different yet familiar.

The journey into nights behind the decks is one that makes him feel at home.
