Ichi Sound is a self proclaimed "Glo-Fi Synthwave" band based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Formed in 2012, the two piece group consists of Brandon Hibbard (a.k.a. Ichi The Thriller) and Dave Story (a.k.a. CPTNDV). Brandon started producing electronic music in his bedroom when he traded his electric guitar for a friends computer back in 2003. Originally producing slow, organic IDM music, Ichi’s sound has evolved into a modern day fusion of glo-fi, nu-disco and 80’s nostalgia. Dave was added to the band as the primary vocalist and lyricist in 2013. 

They independently released their self-titled debut EP in September 2014 and has been performing regularly since, opening for acclaimed indie acts Skylar Spence (formally Saint Pepsi), Joy Cut, YUS, Protector 101, Gost, and Dance with the Dead. Currently, Ichi Sound is working on their upcoming EP "PLAZA", an eclectic blend of easy listening ballads and 80's inspired synth-pop to be released Fall 2015.

Jacob Felix Heule is an improvising percussionist with a special interest in friction techniques. His music is shaped by intuition, listening, and following where the sounds lead. He embraces limited instrumentation - like a single drum and a single cymbal - as a commitment to exploring the depth of his instruments.

Heule frequently collaborates with Danishta Rivero, Guro Moe, Haavard Skaset, Kanoko Nishi-Smith, Matt Chandler, Chris Cooper, Kevin Corcoran, Kyle Bruckmann, Tom Djll, and Bill Orcutt. He also organizes the monthly Active Music Series, and facilitates a monthly improvisation workshop, Doors That Only Open in Silence.

Heule's practice is informed by his work as an audio engineer. In addition to regularly doing live sound, he has worked on albums by artists such as Burmese, Las Sucias, and Black Spirituals.
