You could cut the tension in the room with a knife. Everybody averted eyes; the silence was all engulfing - it was a wonder nobody had made a swift exit yet, instead they chose to wallow in the awkwardness. They'd managed to bury their feelings and stifle their emotions for hours now but things would reach boiling point soon enough, it was inevitable, but when was a different question altogether... 

Kindergarten is back with their first release of the year and a label debut from Brooklyn-based producer Sobolik. In just a few years they've built a healthy catalogue of finely tuned music for labels like 3024, Woozy, Cloudcore and several for All Centre, the label they co-run alongside Simkin and DJ Pitch. Their first for Kindergarten, a four-track EP titled Packet Loss, is a testament to their deftness at playing with rhythm and percussion. Described by Sobolik as an expression of 'the tension between joy and discomfort', the release is an ode to the dance floor which has provided a space in their life for 'becoming, healing, and catharsis'.

@kindergartenrecords readies a new V/A compilation, 'Fluo III' - a three-tracker that injects futuristic dancefloor forays accompanied by kaleidoscopic club sounds. 

Razor-focused on delivering expansive and immersive solo material, label boss @masha-ny delivers a sensually-charged scorcher that ebbs and flows with intensity, matching its bass-fuelled buoyancy. “Inspired by water and its power, dynamics and textures, 'Sea Through Fantasia' is exploring sensual energies growing around a dark bassline," says the producer.

Kindergarten Records readies a new V/A compilation with Fluo III - a three-tracker that injects ongoing futuristic dancefloor forays accompanied by kaleidoscopic club sounds. 

Two brand-new voices make their debut on the label, as New York-based artists Palitra and Martini make their presence felt alongside a solo track from label founder Ma Sha.

Palitra leads off Fluo III with “Cold Shoulder”, a methodically bass-churner that invokes a time-warp tunnel between early 2000s sound design up until now. Palitra’s globe-spanning upbringing shaped his influences and experiences - originally from Kyiv and then moving to the
mountainous ranges of Virginia, the constant shifts between time, space and pace developed into distinct sonic sensibilities upon his move to New York. 

From Palitra himself: “Around that time, besides the obvious reference to Source Direct, I was also discovering mid 2000s drumfunk and listening to records from labels like Scientific Wax and Inperspective. The lean, vascular sound and rhythmic structures of the hits of that era inspired the idea behind Cold Shoulder."
