We’re back for another round of one of your most anticipated and celebrated compilations; Full Body Workout. With this compilation we shine a light on the current state of things and take a peek at what’s to come. This time we’ve got Djuma Soundsystem back on board mixing the compilation and delivering the first track ‘Koma Kobache’ in collaboration with Westerby. From there we’ve got a gritty track from Dexter Kane and Tboy, ‘Every Moment’ followed by even more grit in ‘Tantra’ by Animal Trainer. JSPR keeps the vibe going, yet on a lightly lighter note, before Sordo and Rodriguez team up and turn up the heat. Silt follows up with another heavier (and darker) track titled ‘Bad Habits’ before Jaen Paniagua doses us with a bit of Acid in ‘Crystal Lab’. From there Christian Malloni, DJ Le Roi, David Hasert, Tim Engelhardt and Alican bring the compilation to a beautiful end. Debut on Nein from roam boss JP soul two slices of interstellar electronic dance music. A.L.E. the more slow burning of the two is a low slung dancefloor groove. Take me to your leader is faster but no less of a groove. Remixes come courtesy of Two Mamarrachos who take A.L.E. And give it an eastern feel and Montcosmik takes take me to you leader and releases the dark beast hidden therein.

With this in mind, Crossfrontier Audio and Sonic Future have collaborated together to provide you with a series of releases - aptly named Themes.

Each release will focus around a unique structure, unfolding beauty to have as your own, to indulge upon, and to take with you wherever... lasting intricacy built through simplicity. 

Talking about the project, Sonic Future added 'Sometimes we get overloaded by tracks with tons of amazing effects, but no actual musical meaning. For the theme series, I decided to get back to basics. The idea is to present the music around specific melodies or chord progressions, giving a more minimalistic approach based on melodic themes, and building the tracks around motivic developments. The result is certainly more intimate, but I hope it resonates with today´s music.'

Already a well-established presence on the outlandish fringes of experimental, alternative and dance music, celebrated Israeli duo Red Axes make a surprise left-turn onto Phantasy with a three-track 12”, ‘Sipoor’. Unsurprisingly, the results are as pleasingly out-there as the occasion requires. 

Following on from last year’s self-released LP, ‘The Beach Goths’, ‘Sipoor’ immediately announces the Axes’ uncompromising return to the front and centre of the dancefloor with the raw, provocative ‘Bad Time Story’. Brazen, brash acid triggers this particular tale, as Red Axes briskly modulate their way through a ruff, tuff but never less than musical landscape of 303s and 808s. 

‘Sipoor’ takes a more gradual approach to building offbeat rave tension, featuring an unknown male using his native tongue to request some kind of house, some kind of techno and some sort of release. His wish (and we hope, yours) is the Axes’ command, as the music goes deep before seamlessly unfolds around a throbbing bassline and a playful, familiar keyboard sample, beckoning feet to the dancefloor and perhaps tongues ever so slightly to cheeks. 

Concluding the 12”, ‘Teroof’ takes each of Red Axes’ signature ingredients - deeply rhythmic EBM-inspired drums, spiralling electronics, unapologetically odd vocal distortions - and reconstructs them amid what sounds like the Monaco Grand Prix, as high-velocity motors speed past the soundscape, kicking up some serious dust.

Label boss Mia Lucci brings new life to her expanding catalogue, a three track experience, ‘8 Pounds’. First Mia introduces us to ‘Liv’. Inspired by creation itself, the track floats along its tech-house roots as it gradually blossoms into a warm bath of pad and emotion. ‘Melon Clouds’ breaks the trance and delivers a deep and house-y groove right from the start. Dopamine levels rise with the vocal ambience, culminating in a steamy, soulful shuffle. For the last part of our journey, Mia takes us for a ride in synthtopia, where an air of experimentalism flutters through the tones as a thick percussive line drives the energy further into her sonic wonderland.
