Feather - Little Dragon - 'Live From' the Boiler Room

This track sounds like prophecy riding on a funk groove. The bassline glides with that classic West Coast swing, but underneath it carries weight, the heaviness of divine responsibility. The synth chords shimmer like light reflecting on water, bending and whining with soul, while gospel organ riffs lace through it like a preacher reminding gods of their duty.

But the heart of the track is this: justice in the hands of Elohim should be simple, to protect the weak, defend the poor, lift the small across the river of chaos even if it costs your own soul. That is the essence of divinity, not crowns or power, but burden-bearing love.

And yet, even Elohim stumble. The track admits this truth: the gods themselves, who reflect humanity, can fail just as humanity does. They are fallible, they can miss the mark, they can turn blind. In the groove of funk, this becomes a lesson: we all stand equal in weakness before the Most High.

“Rise, Elohim” is not as a boast but as a plea, rise to your true purpose, rise to justice. The choir hums like the voices of the poor, the broken, the forgotten, asking the gods not to forget them again.

It’s not harsh, not militant, this is judgment with humility, prophecy wrapped in groove. A reminder that whether divine or mortal, we are all fallible next to GOD.
