TR130 - Tech Support

Tech Support stands amongst some of the most prolific young DJs and producers out there. Yet despite a vigorous work ethic he still maintains a sense of playfulness in his work, demonstrated by his tongue-in-cheek approach to the DJ lifestyle. We chatted with him over on Instagram about small communities, production tips and musical influences. 

Combining lashings of house euphoria, mind-melting chug, dirty basement disco, obscure italo and more, Tech Support is primed and ready to send you offworld to a strange yet familiar place of feel good. 

And it’s not just dancefloor clientele that have been captured by these far-out frequencies, gaining support from the likes of Mixmag, Rinse FM, Houseum and fellow artists Black Loops, Late Nite Tuff Guy, and Dan Shake on a number of productions and mixes.

Tech Support always finds a groove in everything he touches. Be that through his DJ sets, mixes or his own productions, there's a rhythmic fluidity and depth that always guides his way.

He never confines himself to one sound or style but there's a distinct nod to the 80s in his influences and output; be assured you'll find lashings of Italo, vintage darkwave, euphoric house and slo mo chug when he's behind the decks or laying it down in the studio.

His work rate as a producer has been on the up over the last few years. If he's not sharing his solo work, which has formed releases for Nocturne, Together Alone, Futureboogie, Silver Bear and, most recently Ano Ano, he's crafting his own self-released edits and reworks of legendary new beat, new wave and Italo Disco tracks like 'Burning Down The House', 'Je Suit Passee' and 'Drop The Deal'. Lately he's been making music under another alias, Asa Tate, with a track penned for this year's Rhythm Section SHOUTS compilation. 

For his Shine A Light On mix, he dives into the sounds we've come to know him for: there's revving Italo, hypnotic Goa, groovy acid not acid and dusty progressive trance. Dig in...

Moving towards faster bpms and with some fresh faces Cong Burn's fourth 12" is a step into new ground for the young collective. A1 sees St Petersburg's Flaty follow up his Gost Zvuk 2xLP with some twisted electro. At A2 Lack shifts gears to an early doors stomper. Chekov's B1 showcases the Leeds producer's hypnotic side. While the B2 is closed out by Martin Stromstedt aka Martinou with a lengthy trip floating on airy pads and a subtle groove.
