Mok-T is Hugo Fournier, an artist from Lyon based in Montreal 
who practices music influenced by the spectrum of Raw House 
and Dub. He is commited to building positive, inclusive dancefloor 
spaces in Montreal rapidly growing community. His self-lauched 
Deeplomatic series has provided a quality platform for artists in the 
scene since 2022 and more than 12 successful nights in the city.
He also practices digital art with Isotone studio that he created in 
2018. In 2020, he released his first tracks on Kizi Garden Records, and his 
last vinyl project on La Rama Dubs in 2021. One EP for Archipel Musique and a track for Kito Kat Records will be released by the end of the year.

🪐 kicking off 2024 with a new series entitled “nep-tunes” where we’ll be inviting some of our favourite artists to dig deep and share their more chilled and experimental selections.

joining us for the first instalment is a veteran to the scene... @adamshelton_infinitespace 

adam over the past two decades has focused on life as a dj, building a name for himself in his home town of birmingham running his party below and co-owning the rainbow venues between 2005-15. he was a fundamental part of changing the landscape of digbeth and its party scene. whilst all this was going on adam went on to embark on an international dj career, playing on some of the most sought-after clubs and stages around the world from panorama bar in berlin to iicon at glastonbury festival and for ten years ran one records label with subb-an. a record collector since the mid-nineties and an event curator and programmer there are many strings to adam’s bow.  

in more recent years adam has honed his craft as a sonic explorer playing a more experimental sound under his a-future alias which focuses on intricate breaks and miami bass influenced electro, also sharing sound in the well-being world using music as a healing modality whilst playing sets to guide yoga and meditation classes.

Nuestra primera parada cae en manos de uno los pinchadiscos clave para Surco.
A lo largo de estos últimos años, Dubby ha adquirido un notable reconocimiento en tierras nacionales e internacionales tanto en sus producciones como en sus dj sets, pues es responsable del sonido Deep Explorer desde 2004 junto a su hermano Above Smoke, sello orientado al deep house con base en Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid). Si buscas a Dubbyman por la red podrás comprobar que en sus sesiones le da a todos los palos y, además, con esa delicadeza que le caracteriza en la mezcla.

Para este primer episodio de los viajes de Surco, el madrileño nos muestra la escena Broken beat en la primera década de los 2000, un estilo proveniente de la zona oeste de Londres y que representaba, en su versión vocal, un gran porcentaje de lo que podría llamarse “el new soul de aquella época”.

Mok-T is a French-Canadian artist based in Montreal. Drawing inspiration from House, Minimal, Deep, and Dub styles, he is committed to creating inclusive and positive dance spaces in a booming electronic music scene. Since 2022, his self-launched Deeplomatic series has become a quality platform for local and international artists in Montreal. He has also released tracks on labels such as La Rama Dubs (2021), as well as Archipel Musique (2024) & Kito Kat Records. His upcoming project, Surface Healing, will be released soon, and performed live during Mutek 2025. Alongside his musical career, Mok-T is a digital artist and co-founder of the Isotone Studio, founded in 2018.
