Marking 26 years since his last album, Hip Hop icon and culture’s greatest storyteller Slick Rick returns with Victory, a groundbreaking visual album dropping June 13, 2025, via Idris Elba’s 7Wallace label and Mass Appeal. Executive produced by Slick Rick and Idris Elba, Victory fuses cinematic brilliance, rich storytelling, and cultural innovation. The project features powerful collaborations with Nas, Giggs & Estelle, anchored by a 25-minute captivating film directed by Meiji Alabi (Beyonce’s Black Is King,) bringing the album’s vision to life through bold visuals and layered narratives. Recorded over four years in South London and France, Victory is more than a visual album, it’s a cultural statement celebrating Slick Rick’s legacy and artistic evolution. The film will make its debut at SXSW London and Tribeca Film Festival. Through a global rollout of compelling content, intimate events, and strategic PR and digital campaigns, Victory aims to honor the past while pushing Hip Hop into new territory. The legend has returned, with Idris Elba by his side and the path to Victory begins now.

I started singing professionally in 1988 when I signed my first recording contract with Spring Records with the R&B Group “Page One”. After the group split up I began writing lyrics and creating melodies and in 1990 co-wrote “Can We Get Together” released on AME Records. My first single “Make It” released in 1993 on JPIL Pure Music Records with Producer Gary Wright with my lyrics and vocal melody. I continued writing and collaborating with various Producers such as Dennis Ferrer on “Believe It” released in 1995 on Mic Mac Records; “Don’t Look Back” on Surreal Records in 1997, “Pump This Party” as featured vocalist with Adolph Dupree on Chastity Records in 1998, “Deep In My Soul” & “Floating Away” with Aslam on Purple Edge Records in 2009; “Summertime” with UnionSteve on Muzik for Life Records, “I Wanna”, “Get on Down” and “Calling Out for U” with 35Bag in 2009.
In 2015 I started using Mixcraft music software to create all of the songs on my SoundCloud page that I first wrote and arranged on the acoustic guitar and keyboard. In 2016 I produced 3 Albums “Volcanic Eruption”, X of Reckoning” and Harvest X = Luv”. I officially released my first Single “Ready 4 Love” on June 15, 2016; and Single “Closer” along with the “Volcanic Eruption” Album. I’ve recently created remixes for some of the songs featured on the “Volcanic Eruption” Album as well as songs from my soon to be released “Harvest X = Luv” Album.

With such vast experience and understanding of his craft, knows how to create a compelling project from start to finish. He is one of the next generation of producer/directors that has studied the foundation of his mentors, and injected digital technology as a way to improve the way we are exposed to unique and untold stories.
