Michael Irelan (born June 12, 1981) better known by his stage name Filey Smace is an American producer, vocalist, guitarist, promoter, actor and performer from Columbus, Ohio. He started writing music and singing in family groups as a child, later in high school he was a front-man in an all orignal band that went mainly by "The Chrome Soldiers" but also by "Big Ass Cadallac" and "Halo" as a young adult he played in a two person original metal band that himself and a close friend Paul "The Saw" Carpenter had formed named "Morbid Butterfly"
He was introduced to Horrorcore in 1999 by Stacey Carpenter and knew that the underground music scene is where he belonged, he says "I dont want the glam and glitter from the mainstream, I just want my underground family, they are the only people that understand why I love the music that I do, so I only have the same love to give in return". He dosn't refer to his listeners as fans and thinks its disrespectful to call them that, he calls them his fams.
He portrays the character of a canabalistic, mentally ill, serial killer clown, The lyrics of his music are purely fantasy and very explicit, NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. He writes lyrics like a author would write a horror book or film. The lyrics/stories he writes about are FICTION and Filey Smace do's NOT commit, condone or advocate ANY of the actions that you may hear in his music, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ATTEMPT ANYTHING YOU HEAR IN THE LYRICS OF THIS MUSIC.
