By being a son of a mother that was a club head, he came across a stepfather that was a dj. By also being the family entertainer with cookouts and reunions, he grasped on quickly to dance and have the musical background. Having friends in the same field of hobbies, the destined to be entertainer, loved to play records that his stepfather bought home from the club. Mostly disco and soul music, he always played with the records with his friends from school. Not knowing he would some day become Da Headbanga. Always dancing and performing, he got a taste of the limelight real early. Djing, popping and breaking the early 80's was the thing to do with the homies. Later on, having a crush on a high school classmate, followed her to a club and fell in love with house music. From there on, the club shut down for new city projects and move to a bigger location soon to be known as Paradox. While dancing in the club, he ran into a limelight grabber that had the same style and love for music as he did. They quickly joined together to be two faithful clubheads. Dancing all night long until the sun came up only to get put out by security. One night showing off the skills, one lady came in and started throwing dollars at them while they were dancing, only to come back the following week and do it again. She suggested that they become strippers. They toyed with the idea and then became the group Bump-n-Grind. The most energetic duo to hit the underground scene. Through the years of traveling and doing what they did, inedivably they would break off doing solo acts. While this happended, Erotico came across a dancer that wanted him to produce his music for his sets. It caught on like wildfire, then he started doing music for dancers up and down the east coast. While being into sampling alot of music, he decided to get a mpc2000(something that had more sample time than the gemini ds-1224). He decided to get into producing. Then to follow up with a korg n364. From there on, he got a little more into it by purchasing more recording equipment for his studio. Now today he's in it more than ever! With graphic, web design, audio and video producing, he's more in demand with the skills. Today he's still ripping stages doing the dance thing and producing, later to be Erotico Da Headbanga. Ricky Palmer, known to many as RICKY PLATINUM was born in Brooklyn, New York, but at a tender age, his Jamaican parents moved to Prince George’s County, Maryland. Ricky is the older of his two sisters. His father, Simeon Palmer, introduced Ricky to the art of music at the age of 4. 

Upon graduating high school, Ricky attended Prince George’s Community College, Music has been Ricky’s passion since his early childhood and he values it as his freedom of expression as well as a healthy escape, to the hard-inner city life that existed right outside his door.
Ricky began his musical career at the age of 17, when he was featured on his uncle’s Blacka Platinum Sound System, known as “Platinum Sound”. Ricky quickly proved himself as one of the sounds best-reviewed selectors. Shortly thereafter, the young selector adopted the stage name “Ricky Platinum.” 

In 2009, Ricky created a weekly event named, “Tipsy Wednesdays” (which has been newly named ALL STAR WEDNESDAYS) which created a buzz within the city and is now ranked as the DMV’s #1 weekly event. This themed- weekly event encourages and attracts audience participation by promoting creativity. Various international artists, DJ’s, local artist and dance groups are able to showcase their talents during this Wednesday night festivity.

Ricky’s extensive music library consists of Soul, Disco, Ska, Culture, Reggae/Dancehall, Soca, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, Go-Go and many more, has captured the attention of numerous promoters throughout the world. He specializes in ALL genres of music, which allows him to be classified as one of the most versatile selectors in the business, one that can be heard Every Friday on Ragashanti’s Tambourine Radio. 

He has entertained crowds at some of the most well-known clubs in the DMV such as: Fur Nightclub, Ibiza, Aqua, Lux Lounge, Ultra Bar, Bliss, Eden, Muse Lounge, Tattoo Bar, Layla Lounge, Crystal Lounge, Club Timheri’s and Crossroads Nightclub.

Ricky is now listed as one of the youngest most talented DJ’s in the D.C, Maryland & Virginia area. He has received the “Selector of The Year” Award in the DMV in 2010, 2011 and 2012. 

He was recently featured on FOX5DC for their #DJFridays Weekly Showcase, Baltimore’s Annual Jerk Fest, The Best of The Best Concert in Miami, Florida & British Link-Up in Florida, which features the most elite selectors in the Dancehall Community from the United Kingdom, the United States and Jamaica. 

His talents have granted him the opportunity of becoming an International DJ, receiving bookings throughout the United States, The United Kingdom & various Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.
