Amniote x Ute - Fundraiser Compilation vol. I - Previews

My track on the Amniote x Ute Fundraiser Compilation. 
All the proceeds will be donated to The Red Van: a volunteer-run NGO working with harm reduction and human rights for street based sex workers in Copenhagen.

"Sidewinder" is my reptilian alias for Mama Snake's label, Amniote Editions. All artists are invited to create their own reptilian alter ego for the project. My last release there was the "Ripple Effect" EP in 2019. I first met her in Autumn 2018 in Copenhagen to play at Jolene, as well as attend in-person sessions for the mastering+lacquer cut for the record. We mastered with Joel at Six Bit Deep and cut the lacquer with Hari (HVAD) at Kommunal Dubplate. Proper stuff. Few weeks later we shared the lineup on Sustain Release Festival in NYC, it was all a blast. 

I had the pleasure to first meet the Ute crew in Spring 2019, playing their club night at Blå in Oslo. Already had a good feeling when they picked me up from the airport and were playing Global Communication while driving through misty evergreen trees. Oslo freakishly reminded me a lot of my hometown of Seattle, just a bit less mountainous and hilly. That summer, we shared a lineup in Säule Berghain and at the end of season I was invited to play at one of their forest parties (bless) alongside their residents and Alpha Tracks - it was a really fun run! :~)

Sidewinder aka D.Dan - Can You Float? [Amniote x Ute Compilation]

D.Dan launches his own label, summerpup, as a home for his unique blend of deep, groovy, rolling sounds steeped in psychedelia. The label’s playful name and mantra derives from heritage knowledge from his Korean roots passed down by his mother, based on his time of birth.

**Currently the vinyl industry is experiencing delays of 8-12+ months in production times, without solid guarantee of a release date. I find this just too long to delay getting the music out to the people, so I have decided to go forth with releasing the digital files now, with the vinyl to come next year when production has finished. More than happy to share with you my new release on Skryptom !

Approx one month ago I took on Electric Rescue challenge to do and release this 4 track ep in 30 days!
It was such a hard challenge, while composing I went from euphoria to anxiety...
I usually take time producing tracks but I discovered that working under pressure can be gratifying and I'm very happy with the result!

For those who know me trough my releases, I always like to add some non techno element to my EPs, so, some hours before the deadline I decided to remix one of the track with my alias Derivative Of The Unconscious, it's the first time I'm releasing something with this alias making this project very special for me!

"Amniote Editions team up with friends and bbs of Mala Junta for “The Collective Capsule” - a celebration of 5 years of Berlin's favorite queer event. The capsule collection consists of a 12” cordially made up of 4 belters from the residents Hyperaktivist, Yazzus, DJ Tool and D.Dan, two compilations stacked with friends and lovers and limited merch. 

The capsule also launches Amniote Editions’ return to graphic design studio Alexis Mark, who were part of the birthing of the platform and now presents their first cover design as a multilayer 12” gift - a record wrapped in a beautiful poster protected by a limited edition screen printed PVC sleeve."
