There was a strangely shaped window. 
A wooden knob like a clenched fist sat in the center of the glass. 
Grasping it and pulling toward me, the large window came loose from its frame and tilted toward me. 
I instinctively braced it with both hands. 
Outside, everything was a uniform ash-green. 
The wind whipped the hair of a figure standing at the edge of the garden, waving a hand toward the distance—hair the same color.

Our latest Kingsway volume comes from Montreal-based French producer Traxx. Born and raised in France, Traxx was influenced early on by producers like Pharrell, Timbaland, & Kanye West. An avid piano player since childhood, his productions incorporate many live instruments along with vintage analog synthesizers to create tasteful, unique musical palettes.

In 2011 Traxx received his first 3x platinum certification for his work with Colonel Reyel and has gone on to receive several more platinum and gold certifications for his work with Youssoupha, Keblack and more. Already a well known figure within the french music industry, it won’t be long until he is a household name, and we are proud to have him as part of the Kingsway team.

As the media and public attention begins to wane, Samples for Change is our contribution to try and keep the conversation moving around truly remedying the systemic racism and inequality rooted in our society. Progress has been made, but there is still much to be done. As outlined last month, Kingsway Music Library is committed to helping accelerate the emergence of a better and more equal future we can all be proud of. All proceeds from Samples for Change will be donated to organizations committed to racial equality and justice. Kingsway’s latest volume, Utopia, is crafted to sonically represent a perfect day. Produced and composed by Young Buddha (Formerly VinnyX), Utopia is not only for sampling, but also intended to be enjoyed as a full instrumental album.

Each sample is time stamped with the dual meaning of a specific time of day and also the birthdays of close friends, with the first and last tracks waking you up from, and returning you to the dream state. 

Musically there are many layers and moods to unpack, with a thread of uplifting and inspiring melodies weaving amongst meditative backdrops and textures.
