Amsterdam-based @jasminhoek is a DJ and radio host renowned for her eclectic, percussion-rich sound. Immersed in a vivid spectrum of bass, breaks, dubstep, acid and techno, she also readily embraces the weird, with a knack for uncovering the most compelling of unexpected oddities.

As both a hard-working and in-demand selector, Jasmín has taken the stage at an array of much loved venues and events across the world, including the likes of the Dekmantel, Dekmantel Selectors and Rewire Festivals, De School, Garage Noord, Tresor, Griessmuehle, and New York’s Bossa Nova Civic Club. In recent times, she’s spent time honing her skills in the studio, with her first two track releases being featured on VAs from Dekmantel and Martyn’s 3024 imprint.

Jasmín's Patterns of Perception 93 feels simultaneously free-spirited and precise, with its energy and emotion combining to perfectly capture her distinctive sound. Buoyant, expressive rhythms find cathartic release amongst flashes of luminescent energy. Warm, playful atmospheres are actually intensified by pensive, reflective interludes. Past inspirations find reinvigoration alongside feelings and reflections from today.

With ‘Sliding Doors’, Eora producer, Sanguine, greets Lost Properties with an elegant blend of ambient, dub and downtempo, full of skittering echoes and textural ear candy.

‘Gone To Taste A Dream’ opens with lush pads and twinkly keys, before giving way to blissed out drums at 100bpm. Picking up the pace, ‘Push Not Pull’ postulates atmospheric breakbeat through tablas and congas, echoing out into the void. ‘Denture Venture’ casts its gaze to the stars, with a wide-eyed bass roller, replete with found sounds and smooth washes of noise. Opening with an eerie tone, ‘Ear Gum’ gives way to crunchy breaks and chirping synths.

Rich in detail and intricate in approach to rhythm, Sanguine delivers a love letter to dub, equally indebted to ambient voyagers like Purelink as it is to Skee Mask.

A few words from Belgian sound engineer and producer David Morley about his mix:

"The composition of this mix began while thinking about Mira Calix. The memory of that time when we were all working together with Chantal (Mira Calix) and Andrea (Parker) initiated the first track, one of her pieces. I hadn’t listened to her track Sparrow in a long time, rediscovering it made me appreciate just how wide ranging the music scene was then, so I simply chose music that took me back to that era. Most of them date from that period, others are more recent, but they all seem to have what I enjoyed at the time: an open door to any musical direction you wish to take as an electronic artist. I hope to share a bit of that zeitgeist and that some listeners will discover some new tracks or artists through this mix."
