Sucre sucre’s musical foundation lies at the crossroads of classical music and reggae – a combination that continues to shape her approach as a DJ based between Berlin and Vienna. Her fascination with the ambiguous and genre-fluid began early, influenced by formative experiences in church choirs, traditional East African music, and her sister’s collection of garage records. When not moving between her two home cities, she turns to her favorite ritual: spending hours on a kneeling stool – her preferred position for focused listening and sonic exploration. Her collection is ever-expanding, guided by a taste for the unconventional: tracks with unusual lyrics, offbeat energy, or irresistibly strong basslines. A true Capricorn, she follows intuition over direction, letting instinct lead the way. Motivated by a desire to tell stories and a deep curiosity about sound, sucre sucre is constantly refining her musical identity – unafraid to cross boundaries, take risks, and lose herself in new and unfamiliar sonic landscapes.
