Estimulo’s sets always provide a full deep listening experience as well as a few undiscovered gems along the way. This mix recorded live at our last Alles Paletti party does all of it and at the same time perfectly captures the incredible freedom spirit and positive energy of the party, where we couldn’t have hoped for a better crowd of dancers.
 
 We feel that Estimulo’s style perfectly captures the ethos of RBL Berlin - this set recorded at the sunset hours at our first party in months being the living proof of what we mean. Re-listening puts a smile on our faces and just leaves us craving for more of this medicine as soon as possible.

Ari Goldman (Beautiful Swimmers) mix for Berceuse Heroique

In the first week of September we’re heading to the beautiful scenery of Tisno, Croatia, to celebrate the first edition of Dekmantel Selectors. In the run up to the festival, we’ve launched a new temporary podcast-series where we invite ten of our selectors from the festival to dig deep in their unique collections. The idea behind the mix is to create a Time Document, focusing on a specific period of time with the artist being free in choosing this period. This period could in fact entail anything: a certain decennia, the time he or she fell in love, The Cold War, November ’92 – March ’93, or the rise of Nigerian music. It’s up to the Selectors to choose and tell us a story based on their music collection.

Cinema Royale is the alter ego of bon-vivant Arne Visser, currently one of Amsterdam's best underground DJ’s. His vibrant DJ-sets, full of rare gems and soulful cuts, will fit perfect in the intimate setting. The Selectors Time Document he made for us carries the name ‘No Strings Attached’. "To come straight to the point: I am a string bitch. I fell madly in love with soundtracks, in particular scores, obscure ones, with house, Detroit, techno, italo-disco, actually all kinds of disco from all continents, and with boogie. Many kinds of strings mesmerize me, whether they are real, analogue synthesizers or other soundscapes that substitute the strings and sound adventurous, pure and emotional. Strings just knock me down and take me away to places where we are all free to fly as high as we want to.”

Arne explains the idea behind the mix. "The 'No Strings Attached' Selectors Podcast doesn’t contain out of the all-time favourite UR’s, west-end or Jean-Luc Ponty kind of anthems. It is a spontaneous result of the DJs arrogance by suggesting a causal relationship between all kinds of artists that never had a clue they would be connected because we selectors felt we had the right to do so. The mix was recorded at Het Straatje in tropical temperatures with a bunch of vinyl, a lot of soda, a King Hassan joint and a package of cigarettes. I hope you get the same natural highness as I had while recording this selection!"
