Planet E are proud to present ‘AW18 Collection’, a 3 track EP from British producer Tom Flynn due September 14th. Drawing upon a broad and learned musical understanding, ‘AW18 Collection’ fuses disparate strands from the worlds of fashion, club culture and sound design to forge a highly atmospheric, singular release.

‘Packard’, the title of which is inspired by parties in the historic Detroit power plant of the same name, establishes an unrelenting energy from the get go. A bouncing kick lays the foundations for rolling synths, unnerving vocal samples and delicate piano refrains to wander. ‘Anna’ is an indulgent nod to the catwalk, marching with intent amidst immersive chords and subtle melodies.

The B side hosts a trippy cut full of interplanetary glitches and melancholic harmonies. Drawing upon hints to the extraterrestrial, ‘Marx’ creates a dizzying swirl with glistening textures.

Carl Craig was sold straight away: “When Tom sent me his demo of ‘Packard’ I knew I wanted to release it on Planet E. The mix of looped electronics with soul of the piano brought me back to when I first heard the post-Disco classic ‘Beyond the Clouds’. I can imagine the kids on The Scene rockin' hard to this.“

'Acclaimed London-based DJ collective HOUSEKEEPING mark a sublime return with the out of this world ‘Lunar Maria’ EP, released on their label HOUSEKEEPING Records on 13 March. 

The two-track EP features a unique fusion of tribal and cosmic beats, alongside cleverly layered percussion to prove why HOUSEKEEPING are such an exciting outfit. 

The pulsating title track ‘Lunar Maria’ is an exhilarating opener with driving percussion and shimmering strings deployed alongside a haunting horn section which evokes images of natural wonder and mysterious lands.  

The atmospheric and laid-back ‘Moonscape’ takes things into after-hours territory with sultry, alluring synths and hypnotic tribal drumming. 

HOUSEKEEPING said that the inspiration for the ‘Lunar Maria’ EP came from “being consumed by tribal sounds and beats whilst partying under the moon in Tulum, Mexico.”

HOUSEKEEPING was formed in 2012 by DJs Taylor McWilliams, Carl Waxberg, Jacobi, and Sebastian MDH. Previous HOUSEKEEPING EPs include ‘Musica’, ‘Mugabe Out’, ‘My Body’, ‘Best Friend, Worst Enemy’, ‘Let’s Play’, and ‘Damn Dollar’ which were supported by leading DJs and tastemakers including Pete Tong, Seth Troxler, Nic Fanciulli, Dennis Ferrer, Steve Lawler, Agoria, Richy Ahmed, Danny Howard, and Damian Lazarus.'

'Written and composed by Canadian long-time electronic music activist LEBARON & PHEEK.
They joined forces for the first time in 20 years to compose this little beauty.

Known as a minimal house pioneer in Montreal,  Pheek is definitely unique in his genre. Signed on Richie Hawtin's Minus as well as on Contexterrior and Telegraph, just to name a few. He is the man behind well recognized Archipel Canadian imprint.

On another end, Lebaron released his first album in 2001 entitled "Fishingindeeparea" (Trigger / Warner) in collaboration with Swedish house producer extraordinaire Håkan Lidbo, positioning him among the key figures in the Canadian electronic music industry. He is also part of duo trickster Hoopalaï (Get Physical, Kindisch) with his long time partner in crime Pfreud and trio Thee FFF with Felix Da Housecat.

THE TOYS DO DAT brings a deep and elaborate groove over a infectious weird vocal. Minimal but main room in the same time, this track will without a doubt get the floor moving early or late in the festivities.'

Exclusive Tokyo Black Star - Blade Dancer (Original Unreleased Version)

When Âme and Dixon founded Innervisions back in 2005 the first EP to be released on the label was Tokyo Black Star's Psyche Dance, which included a beatless version as well as a Dixon edit of the track Blade Dancer. More than a decade later the orginal version of the track, which was reworked by Toyko Black Star in 2015, sees the light of day on Alex from Tokyo's label World Infamous and marks the 6th release. Blade Dancer has not lost any of its original spirit as it probably had marked the beginning of the Melodic House-genre before it got its name. Intriguing partly repetitive (piano) chords set the tone of the track and are modified to arpeggio-sounding sequences in shorter intervals. This procedure, the arrangement of faster following and various sound-arrays create an infective sound experience, which is even enhanced by adding rudiments of arcade game sounds that lead to an explosive blend and even turn the 2015 version of Blade Dancer to an instant classic, which should be mentioned in all books.

Tokyo Black Star's EP Blade Dancer was released on World Famous on March 13th, 2020.
