Kirby was born in Omaha, NE and raised in Blair, which is a small town just country mile north of Omaha.  He had a great time growing up in Blair. A lot of his songs are about his childhood, and just having a great time being outside playing. All summer was shirtless, shorts and barefoot (Young Cowboy).
Some of his songs are Christian Faith based, resulting from his conversion when he was 19 years old (You Only Want One Thing, Glory Train, Sing of His Glory). At 18 he met the love of his life Daina and married at 21.   The Album "Road Less Traveled" is dedicated to her.

Some of the songs are about when he was trying to get up the nerve to ask her out. "You Will Say I Do", and "On a Warm Night" (on his first CD) show that wonderful emotion of falling in love for the first time.  He didn’t start writing until 2004 but just happened to have a knack for it.

It all started when his guitar teacher John Housley encouraged him to write songs. John was and is an awesome teacher and that is why Kirby dedicated his first CD "On A Warm Night" to him.

For the past three years since Kirby wrote his first song, hardly a day goes by that he doesn’t have his hands on a guitar working on a new song. His goal is to grow in his songwriting, vocals and guitar. John encouraged him to always be learning. He has learned a lot this last year in the studio with producer, Chuck Beckler and thanks him immensely. Chuck is a long time friend who plays Keyboards, is a Vocalist and is responsible for producing all the arrangements on both early albums and influenced the latest "Gravity".

For my 3rd CD entitled "No Doubt", in addition, I brought together local artists, BoBBonBaSS and Tom Andreasen, for a more upbeat, rocking kind of vibe and a rhythm section experience that is truly amazing indeed, all I can say now is, WoW and Check it out!!

I am currently working on my next CD, number 5, entitled, "Terra Firma", which will also have BoBBonBaSS and Mr. Andreasen as well as hopes to have Chuck Beckler on board for Keyboards, Vocals and Producing ... It is now in the Composing and Guide Track stage, Look for it next Fall!

Ironically, one year before he started taking guitar lessons with Housley, Kirby had sold his guitar and told his wife he was done with music. It just goes to show that you never know what can happen ... 

Kirby's always meeting people who say they wish they’d kept playing or could write songs. So he always tells them -- if you really want to do music, just do it. It’s never too late to start living your dreams.

It is Kirby's hope that you enjoy listening to his music as much as he enjoyed making it.  It's been a blast!
