Avenue Red proudly welcomes the debut podcast episode from producer, DJ and label boss Rai Scott, who is based in the Scottish capital city of Edinburgh. Rai is one half of 2DeepSoul together with her partner in life and music, Brad Peterson - a fellow deep head and master craftsman who did Podcast number 021 for us 8 years ago! Together they run the excellent label Inner Shift Music.

As well as releasing on their own imprints the duo have their music unleashed across a fine array of respected underground labels including Ornate Music; Echocentric Records; Church; Minuendo Recordings; Andy Vaz's label, Yore Records; Altered Moods Recordings; and most recently Rai created the opening release of Avenue Red resident selector Caillou's new upcoming label, Chateau Chepère.

For her instalment of the BIG 200 Rai has created a CD-length vinyl mix of raw, soulful, jazzy, deep, groovy house music with some eclectic, eyebrow-raising twists at the finale. Here we have such a truly sublime, tasteful and classy selection mixed with a wonderfully organic touch. We expected nothing less.

For her second time at MUTEK festival, Montréal based vocalist, songwriter and electronic producer from Cameroon Ellxandra took control of the Play stage at Society for Arts and Technology for an outstanding live performance : one hour of pure electronic grooves and breaks, and soulful jazzy vocals all peppered with melancholy.

In February 2021, Ellxandra contributed to Kizi Garden Records (@kizigarden) last VA compilation 'L'ouverture d'esprit n'est pas une fracture du crâne' with her deep and powerful track 'Life Direction'. Listen here : https://bit.ly/3GgwVeV

Ellxandra will also be featured on the next compilation of the label, to be released in winter 2023 on digital and tape. More than 10 local artists imagined and composed a track with the same sample of her voice.
