El nombre de ‘Vermillion’ quedó como un sello o símbolo de protección a raíz de las circunstancias de encontrar un significado a lo que estaba emprendiendo en aquel momento. Años atrás antes del 2016, pasaba por momentos muy difíciles de mi adolescencia y sus transiciones entre mantener una vida social activa y también poder sentirme cómoda en mi refugio, mi habitación. Donde sentía que podía ser yo, crear y producir ideas en torno a lo visual y sonoro. Encontrar una sensación de protección y seguridad contigo misma y con el exterior me llevó a buscar en internet “algo”relacionado a la cultura asiática y sus simbologías, cosmovisiones y sin pensarlo llegué a un enlace que hablaba de las constelaciones chinas y sus cuatro monstruos divinos de la mitología japonesa / china. Al leer, caí en un artículo que hablaba de la bestia divina llamada en en varias partes de Asia como (Zhu Que, Suzaku, Ju-jak, Chu-Tước). También hablaba de sus características: Suzaku forma parte de uno de los cuatro símbolos de las constelaciones chinas. Los chinos lo llaman ave bermellón. Además de representar al sur, también simboliza a la estación del verano. Su apariencia es la de un Fénix Bermellón, que a su vez representa el elemento fuego. Y había un relato en el que interpretaba a Suzaku como una bestia que protegía a lxs habitantes de aquellos lugares donde la veneraban y creían en ese ser. Dentro de la cosmovisión asiática, se le ve al ave bermellón como una criatura que resurge entre las cenizas para salvar al universo del mal. Descubrirle me llevó a sentir que había encontrado el calor entre las llamadas protectoras del ave, coincidía con la fuerza que necesitaba para seguir mi camino, mi pacto como artista y como creadora de universos visuales y también sonoros. He ahí la iniciativa junto con Damián Alférez de realizar un ritual para plasmar en mi cuerpo, mente y alma el sello / sigilo de una de las criaturas más hermosas de la vida y quien me acompaña día a día en mis procesos creativos. Je n'ai pas vécu cette aventure, merci maman !

- La science - A noter que dans l'état actuel des connaissances, le fœtus n'est pas capable de ressentir la douleur avant 22 semaines.

The Superb Lyrebird (Menura novaehollandiae victoriae) is not native to Tasmania: it was deliberately introduced there - by an ornithology group. Between 1934 and 1949, 22 Superb Lyrebirds were released at Mt Field National Park in the mid south and at Hastings in the far south. The Lyrebirds flourished, and continue to spread widely. Today, experts estimate that their population must be well over 10,000, if not even higher. The Superb Lyrebird has basically 'gone feral'.  And it's known to be having some negative impacts on forest ecosystems. However, one thing that I haven't yet seen discussed or studied is what negative acoustic-ecological impacts Lyrebirds might be having upon native and especially endemic Tasmanian bird species. Some forest soundscapes are being overwhelmed by multiple Lyrebirds, spread through the forest, simultaneously performing intricate, complex and well-projected mimicry for very long periods of time. Fascinating as this is, it's very hard to believe that the native and endemic bird species can communicate naturally and effectively, as they need to do, when such mayhem is going on.

A stag is passing by in the woods of Svanøya island in Norway. I think the hinds is being chased as you can hear some movement before the stag is entering the scene. The strongest rut is in the middle of the recording and luckily it does not distort my recording.
