I like music of the seventies and eighties a lot. I took my favorite weapon and composed and played this instrumental as a peaceful guitar warrior.

I combined hammond organ, guitars and flute. 
I love playing real instruments. 

On Love Lock Bridge, you can seal your love and throw away the key.
After a few years most of the locks are removed, but real love and hope always survive.

Inspired by the  Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar. 
One of the world wonders for sure, this Pagoda shows only marvelous beauty.
We re-recorded this instrumental piece with a full band.

PROGRAM NOTE
Night Songs is a song cycle consisting of settings of poems by different poets that reflect on various aspects of nighttime. The cycle is structured as a somewhat linear timeline, as if the songs are meditations by a single individual.

The cycle begins with a setting of City Dusk by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a nostalgic exploration of the memories someone might have as he or she sits in the park at dusk. This person is in the park as the lights go down, and begins to feel sad, but remembers a time when this place wasn’t dark and lonely, but filled with lights, music, and people. He also remembers one specific person, a woman with blonde hair who loved to dance, who in this case, I interpreted as my wife Victoria. The second song, Lullaby, is a setting of the poem of the same name by W. H. Auden, and is a constructed as a love song sung to someone who is sleeping, and is about the inevitability of death, and looking after someone you love. In the third song, a setting of Birds Appearing in a Dream by Michael Collier, I use bird-like motivic patterns to provide structure for the colorful, figurative descriptions throughout Collier's text. The fourth song is a setting of Insomnia by Dana Gioia. In this poem, the narrator is full of regret, and finally realizes the value of people over possessions. The final song, a setting of Flying at Night by Ted Kooser, is a poem that is all at once about what the title suggests, but also about how so much of what we experience is interconnected and tied together by light.

Straight Vibing (Instrumental)

Nick McAlley is a singer-songwriter , multi-instrumentalist and music teacher. He records and produces his own music in his little studio in Belgium. He plays the guitars, bass, drums, sax, flute, keyboard, harmonica, mandolin. 
He is on tour with his music in Holland, Belgium and Germany, entertaining listeners and linedancers at every concert. 
He is influenced by many styles, but country music is one of his favorites. In the seventies he was a member of Dizzy Man's Band, in the eighties he played in theatres in in 3 musical productions. 
In this millennium he started his own act as a solo-performer. He recorded 4 albums and 1 single so far. 
Being an optimist he knows that you will take some time to listen to his heartfelt music. Better an optimist who is wrong , than a pessimist who is right....

I am a pro musician and multi-instrumentalist and singer. 
My main instrument is the tenor sax though. 
I was a member of a famous Dutch band, the Dizzy Man's Band. 
I played in big theatre shows and musicals and later on had a solo career as Nick McAlley.
 I still feel the urge to write and record my own music.  
 I thank you for taking the time to listen!  Especially if you're an old soul with a young heart.
