This 🎃 Halloween weekend, we've got Jay Tonic from Germany 🇩🇪, in our MuNcast series. At his teenage years, Jay was influenced & inspired by Jazz Piano. His journey took him through numerous genres of music, to which he was always open minded for, before gettin on the decks for the first time. But he has come up with something very special in this Episode for us, MUSICUNEED. Back to the Roots, showing his Love for Jazz & Deep Tech with Voices that are the big part of this glorious mix, combined with soulful vibes,  UK Garage & Tech House grooves. Also, the release of his EP is imminent soon & we all can't wait to hear where he will make a statement with his sound.

Melodic and groovy - That’s the sound of Marcel and Thomas from Germany, who decided in 2008 to find their place together in the electronic music scene. “Ministers Of Melody” describes them most closely. 2009 the joined their todays homebase „Parquet Recordings“ (@parquetrecordings). The foundation was built and many releases were to follow, including their biggest hits so far, “Orlando” and „Keep Going”. In November 2012 they released their debut album „Bridge A Divide“ and the remix album including reworks by „Raumakustik (@raumakustik), Alle Farben, Moonbeam, Rainer Weichhold (@rainer-weichhold), Ryan Davis (@ryan-davis), Joachim Pastor (@joachim-pastor), Nico Pusch (@nicopuschmusic) and many more“. 2015 they joined forces with label boss Solee (@solee-music), for the 100th release on Parquet „STILL HERE“. Remixes for „Gui Boratto (@gui-boratto-official), Paul Oakenfold (@pauloakenfold), Tom Novy (@Tom Novy), Moonbeam (@moonbeamofficial) and Alle Farben (@allefarben)“ are only an excerpt of artists, whose originals have impressed their unmistakably stamp. The performances of Boss Axis are splendid fireworks of euphoric moments.

BSV: Hello Mass! Are you working as a digitalisation ambassador in government of Serbia? Your tracks are all around the web and always in high quality.
MASS DIGITAL: Hehehe, thanks for this kind words. Yeah, seems like people love my vibe and share around.

BSV: You published for All Day I Dream and other famous record labels and people in Serbia don’t know you very well. Are you focused more on the international market?
MASS DIGITAL: Over the last 10 years my music was released on some of the best electronic music labels like ADID, TRYBESof, Kindisch, Hoomidaas, Toolroom, Cr2, Sol Selectas, Akbal, Iboga...
Yes, I’m more focused on the international market at the moment.

BSV: Two remixes and one unpublished original shared with this mixtape. Music production is your primary goal or you want to travel the world as a DJ too?
MASS DIGITAL: From Monday to Friday I’m in my home studio working on original music and remixes. Yes, music production is my primary goal at the moment, but next year will be focused more on touring worldwide.

BSV: We found that your EQ-ing is just perfect. How long does it take to get these skills?
MASS DIGITAL: Heh, we, music producers, are in constant battle with the mixdown and sound, so every track is a story for itself. Advice for all producers is to learn and listen as much as they can.

BSV: There is a signature voice intro with all your mixes. Did you make this recordings while drinking coffee on Mondays?
MASS DIGITAL: Hah, yeah, when I’ve started accepting mix / podcast requests, wanted to make it special and to be closer to the listener. And yeah, people love my voice intros and I really enjoy making those.
You will hear a lot of these intros and personal messages as at the moment I have mix requests till October 2022.

BSV: Have you ever been on ADID showcase? Maybe @ Exit Festival in 2019?
MASS DIGITAL: No, but there will be an ADID Festival in May next year, so 🙂  ... 

BSV: Living in clouds vs realism? What’s your choice?
MASS DIGITAL: I’m a dreamer, aquarius. That says all.

MIRACH

I wander restlessly through the alleys of the gutter. The hands clawed compulsively in the pockets and the hood pulled deep into the face. Light rain accompanies my haphazard ramble through the night. My mind works subliminally. The thoughts mesh like the gears of a precision clockwork. Within seconds, details are worked out that I don't want to see. They torment me, because I know that they will not lead to perfection. All the efforts have always been in vain so far. No matter how invisible I was, no matter how valuable the loot was, no matter how many people I had deceived, the result was always the same. No satisfaction of the urge occurred. No coup was ever good enough. The special element, the extravagant, the extraordinary was always missing!

My hands tremble with rage in my pocket. The more I would be against it the clearer the desire becomes. Suddenly I am torn from my thoughts, because a guy bumped into me. He stops for a moment and examines me from top to bottom. He wrinkles his nose briefly and then continues walking. Meanwhile I feel something in my hand. A watch had gotten caught between my fingers. Slowly, my gaze wanders over to my other hand, knowing full well what to expect. I throw the wallet and the watch into the nearest trash can. It is not their value that has seduced my subconscious, but the routine. I find myself in a vicious circle. Until I complete my masterpiece, my mind will not rest.

Only years later, I will go a new way and find something that is very valuable to most people, but you can steal it from them in such a way that they don't want it back.
Is that my masterpiece?

Ich ziehe rastlos durch die Gassen der Gosse. Die Hände zwanghaft in die Taschen gekrallt und die Kapuze tief ins Gesicht gezogen. Leichter Nieselregen begleitet meinen planlosen Streifzug durch die Nacht. Mein Verstand arbeitet unterschwellig. Die Gedanken greifen blitzschnell ineinander wie die Zahnräder eines Präzisionsuhrwerks. Binnen Sekunden werden Details erarbeitet, die ich nicht sehen möchte. Sie quälen mich, da ich weiß, dass sie nicht zur Perfektion führen werden. All die Mühen waren bisher immer vergebens. Egal wie unsichtbar ich war, egal wie wertvoll die Beute war, egal wie viele Personen ich getäuscht hatte, das Ergebnis war immer dasselbe. Es trat keine Befriedigung des Triebs ein. Kein Coup war je gut genug. Das Besondere Element, das Extravagante, das Außergewöhnliche hat immer gefehlt!

Meine Hände zittern vor Wut in der Tasche. Umso mehr ich mich dagegen wäre desto deutlicher wird das Verlangen. Plötzlich werde ich aus meinen Gedanken gerissen, da mich ein Typ angerempelt hat. Er bleibt kurz stehen und mustert mich von oben bis unten. Er rümpft kurz die Nase und geht dann weiter. Währenddessen spüre ich etwas in meiner Hand. Eine Uhr hatte sich zwischen meinen Fingern verfangen. Langsam wandert mein Blick rüber zur anderen Hand, wohlwissend was mich erwarten wird. Ich schmeiße die Geldbörse und die Uhr in den nächsten Mülleimer. Nicht ihr Wert hat mein Unterbewusstsein verleitet, sondern die Routine. Ich befinde mich in einem Teufelskreis. Solange ich nicht mein Meisterstück vollbracht habe, wird mein Geist nicht ruhen. 

Erst Jahre später werde ich einen neuen Weg beschreiten und etwas finden, was für die meisten Menschen sehr wertvoll ist, aber man es ihnen so entwenden kann, dass sie es nicht wiederhaben wollen.
 Ist das etwa mein Meisterstück?
