Seb Wildblood kicks off the year with his ‘vitara 3000’ EP, a dispatch loaded with three atmospheric cuts which seamlessly dive between sounds of nostalgia, broken beat, and euphoric melodies. The three-tracker via Istanbul-based Oath is his first release since dropping his warmly-received sophomore LP ‘do you feel it too?’ on all my thoughts. 

‘This EP was born out of having the first solid space to be creative in since moving to LA from London. There’s a call and response element to the record via vitara 3000, which refers back to my last album ‘do you feel it too?’ that came out in May via the vocal sample. I see my catalog/discography in phases, and for me, this EP reflects the final few chapters of the sound and energy I’ve been exploring over the last 18 months or so.’ – Seb Wildblood. 

‘floor science’ is the first to drop listeners into Seb’s kaleidoscopic soundscape, indulging ears with a scintillating, high-energy cut that’s inspired by tech house of the noughties. The title track ‘vitara 3000’ trips into a blissful place, where the question posed by Seb’s second LP is answered in the euphoric flight of the vocal, literally calling out, “I can feel!” New studio space and a grab for new studio gear gave creative steam to ‘re-location.zip’, a track that radiates with new beginnings from the elevating chords to the skittering synths and soaring vocals.

In this weeks jam I wanted to continue to work on the combination of the Perfourmer and the Ableton environment. The track is titled 'Mosquito' because it intros with LFO grains and a tape modulation that reminded me of a mosquito or a fly. 

The track marks also the end of development for my upcoming liveset in Copenhagen, Denmark. I have a enough new material and my next task is to merge and rehearse what I have. 

Honestly, I've no clue how to sort this music into a genre. Is it dub techno? Or melodic house? Ambient techno? Maybe you can tell me.

Mosquito

Got on my orchestral synth and performed the foundation of this instrumental. And pulled out my faithful old Mellotron chorus to sing ethereals on this track ... and performed my synth studio version of a classic steel guitar (you may ask how I did it ;) and here it is.  This piece does have a very powerful and emotional meaning for me and very likely for a few good friends that I know.       I hope this conveys such a message to all my welcome listeners.

Klangmeer is the German translation for "Sea of sound" and that's what I want to create. 

In my early 20s a vinyl addicted house and funk DJ, still possessing the two Technics turntables, which were my first major investment. Dropped out of music when they forced the much more expensive CD into the market. Now back to music as a bedroom DJ and producer, mixing and producing my own stuff, still in love with house and funk and doing my first steps in orchestral composition and also techno. I'm also working on orchestral house as a musical concepts, trying to combine the magic of rhythm with the magic of classic instruments like strings, piano and others.
