Miguel Leiva is Casomado, a prolific Chilean-Canadian producer and DJ based in Montreal. His latest single, “Journal Entry,” is a tribute to his father and a crate of cassettes. These tapes were filled with Toronto radio broadcasts of the ‘70s and early ‘80s, featuring unique funk and disco sounds morphing into more electronic styles as the years passed. Providing a soundtrack to his family’s cookouts, parties, and daily routines, these tapes were a huge influence on Casomado. On “Journal Entry,” Casomado speaks on this memory and its influence under a melodic deep house cut. The tune is sparse and dubby, with a rolling bass line, splashes of chords, and a crisp shaker-led rhythm. There’s also a Dub Mix, featuring an expanded drum track, lush pads, and an emotive arpeggiation. Both versions of “Journal Entry” are expressive and deep, perfect for intimate after-hours sessions.

Filth on Acid label head Reinier Zonneveld and hero of the underground has linked up with mainstay DJ/producer Oliver Heldens, more specifically his legendary underground alias HI-LO to explore a darker techno sound. The first fruit of their multiple studio sessions in Amsterdam is the new single 'Saw of Olympus’.

"Over the last few years I’ve become a big fan of Reinier’s productions, his style and his label Filth on Acid, so a few months ago I sent him a couple of new HI-LO ideas that I was working on and he was really into them, so he invited me to his studio to work on some of these together. In the studio we were a really good match, it was very inspiring for the both of us, and I definitely learned a lot from him. We ended up doing multiple studio sessions and we are working on a few different tracks together now which I’m really excited about!
This new track ‘Saw of Olympus’ is the first one that we finished. We called it ‘Saw of Olympus’, because the track has a very distinctive Saw synth, a real “Saw of the Gods”, continuing the Greek god theme of my latest HI-LO releases Athena, Kronos, Zeus and Poseidon. For me this is a great way to explore new collabs that might not be the most obvious ones. Oliver Heldens has been sending me some of his techno works for over a year already - under his alias HI-LO. Turns out he is a great producer and a very fun guy to work with, and we ended up doing regularly very inspiring and productive sessions which resulted in a whole bunch of new tracks that we’re both very happy with! My parents have been my greatest influence of this song and I'm excited to share it with you all.

expanding the Afterlife totality into a label. The label and events will complement each other with one
aim; to bring the crowd into another dimension of music perception with enthralling production to that
ignite the senses.
The ‘Realm Of Consciousness’ voyage commences with Tale Of Us’ Lies - a fitting introduction with
quivering keys and restrained percussion that engenders an ominous suspense ahead of Monoloc’s
enigmatic industrial techno crunch, Phoenix. Shifting through the haunting chords of Recondite’s dynamic
Murphy’s Law, to the brooding synth of Poseidon by Ukrainian duo Woo York, the realisation of Afterlife
utopia is upon us. The repetitive, mesmerising synth and effective reverb that Somne creates with Triangle
is an odyssey within itself. From there, John Hester’s expertly woven ‘Logan’ is a feverish techno stab that
transverses through the emotional senses, transitioning to Locked Groove’s adroitly crafted Emeralds, to
Ryan James Ford’s ambient, albeit percussive, techno cut Toree Bahrstad. Die Wiederkehr is the outcome
of Obscure Shape & SHDW’s collaboration, which incorporates facets of techno and trance that have
been shaped with real guile and finesse. Mind Against round off the compilation with Gravity - a
mystifying ambience and a fitting title as we touch back down to planet earth.

Welcome to the 17th label release for @PuzzleProjectsMusic.

@RonaldChristoph returns to @PuzzleProjectsMusic after the triumphant, rave-inspired Ego Death EP with label boss @BenSpaldingOfficial. This time the renowned Berlin-based musician and producer teams up with @Steve-Cole to deadly effect. The producers each bring years of deep knowledge and experience to their studio exploits: Ronald a stalwart of the Berlin scene and Steve a long-serving member of the techno beat community in his native Switzerland. 

‘Fade News’ (PPM0030) lures us into a long dark tunnel. As the murky bassline throbs and pulsates, we encounter increasingly rousing energy, Cole and Christoph adding layers of percussion and tweaking the arrangement to up the ante. Intermittent rave stabs rise in prominence, taking centre stage and providing a razor-sharp juxtaposition to the bulbous low end. 

On the flip, 'Shadows' (PPM0031) keeps it on the darkside - this time with a potent, oscillating b-line that will send shockwaves through the dance floor. Here, Cole and Christoph dial up the intensity with precision, peppering the track with vocal stabs, and a menagerie of layers and effects to cultivate depth and feeling. The atmosphere is mysterious and seductive, keeping you dancing right until the end.

@Steve-Cole and @RonaldChristoph demonstrate their prowess on this two-tracker, crafting high-calibre eyes-down techno with panache.

And there’s more @PuzzleProjectsMusic hotness on the way, with the next release seeing a return of Brazilian funkster @KatorziMusic.

Who Are You? (Chris Lake Remix)

Munich-based songwriter/producer Frieder Mollat started his music career in the mid 90's following his passion for music.

Graduating from college as a musicologist in 1995 he joined the music industry working a few years for labels like Warner Music Germany.

Over the years he has been writing music for several projects signing a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Germany in 2001.

2017 marks his personal milestone as a solo-artist with the launch of his own project KLANGPLANET.

His self-released album "Voyage" is a retro dipped melodic Deep House journey.
