Taken from "cv313, Federsen - Skyspace EP (Alt/Dub)". Out November 22nd 2024. Buy here :
https://altdub.bandcamp.com/music

Echospace Detroit’s cv313 aka Stephen Hitchell joins forces with Federsen for the second instalment on the latter’s newly minted Alt Dub label with the ‘Skyspace’ EP.Over the past decade and a half San Francisco based artist Federsen has been making his mark on the dub infused techno and house sound, delivering his vintage tape delay and analogue gear driven sound via the likes of Mixcult, Greyscale, Lempuyang and Ohm Series among others. In May this year Federsen inaugurated his own Alt Dub label with a split EP from himself and Hidden Sequence, and here the story continues following the split format with more original material from himself and cv313, accompanied by both artists remixing each other to run alongside their originals across the 12’’.
cv313’s original mix of ‘Skycrossing’ opens the release and in typical Hitchell fashion treats us to eight and a half minutes of deep soundscapes, spiralling dub echoes, muted drums and a subtly unfurling feel throughout. Federsen’s ‘Dub’ remix of ‘Skycrossing’ then follows, offering a more refined and reduced feel with subby pulsations and crisp drums intertwined with dubby fragments of the original tracks.
On the flip-side Federsen’s original ‘Skyway’ leads, employing a sturdy rhythm section with nuanced dub echoes and rumbling low-end swells. To conclude the release cv313 offers up his ‘Dub’ interpretation of ‘Skyway’, stamping his mark on things with phasing atmospherics, intricate oscillations and fluttering percussion.

This curation of tracks proposes an interlude in the Olorun project. It returns to the acoustic sound of the early works while embracing the newer break-bass language. Rather than a retrospective or a preview, it unfolds as an interlude.

Here, instruments are both acoustic and digital, dry percussions meeting coded synthesis and numerical patterns. The music creates a tension between trans acoustic textures and algorithmic rhythm, like breath against computation.

Each track inhabits this in-between state. It traces the subtle passage from one form to another, from organic vibration to synthetic topology and reveals that these ideas are not separate, but part of the same evolution.

Musubi is an album conceived as a puzzle without a predefined plan.

Each artist created their track independently, without listening to the others, yet the result is a coherent journey of downtempo, psychedelic and elegant pieces that naturally resonate with one another.

This album reflects the essence of Wabi Sabi Audio Imprint: embracing imperfection, spontaneity, and the beauty found in the unexpected.

Emprunte is glad to welcome Onohno for this twentieth podcast.
Onohno Brussels based artist, part of Akalara, presents a gradual journey through repetition and texture, where loops stretch and patterns fold into each other. Small shifts quietly reshape the space, and tension builds without rushing.
Abstract and hypnotic, it moves patiently, letting subtle changes guide the way. Something to get lost in, letting time stretch as the sounds evolve.

Enjoy this deep dive.

Press release:
Corentin Boubay unveils his first EP Dust Logic on Pregnant Void, an exploration born from a three-year research cycle on the aesthetics of ruins and the technological obsolescence. This collection emerged in the stillness of his studio-laboratory, through a transformative process of gleaning, deep listening, and the "maintenance sensible" of scientific instruments from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS).

In this work, the machine is no longer a simple tool, but a living partner. Through the prism of Dust Logic, Corentin treats obsolescence, decay, and residues as speculative archives—where the dust of the analogue world is re-imagined through digital textures. Inspired by the thought of Donna Haraway, these compositions invite us to "stay with the trouble" of our damaged planet, finding a strange resonance in the friction between the permanence of matter and the fragility of the signal. Each composition is a tribute to the power of the fragment and the beauty of failure, creating a space where the "non-living" is given a voice.

May Dust Logic offers listeners a place to drift within ruins, to listen to the vibrations of the obsolete, and to find a new narrative within the shards of our technological memory.

Special thanks and gratitude to Olorun and Clarence Rise for breathing new life into these textures, their creative reflections on cohabitation and resurgence resonate deeply within the soul of this project. My sincere thanks to Marc Basler (Assistant Engineer in Instrumentation) and the Physics of Membranes and Soft Matter team at the CNRS, for their invaluable technical guidance and for opening the doors to the memory of their instruments.

Laima Adelaide - Murmuration
Dialog [HNL031 / Huinali Recordings]

Produced by Laima Priedite aka Laima Adelaide
Mastered by Motion Symmetry, UK
Artwork by Off T.
Released by Huinali Recordings from Jeju Island, South Korea
Release Date: May 29th, 2026

A murmuration is a self-organizing system of birds flying in large groups together.
Each bird tracks only a handful of its nearest neighbors — adjusting speed, angle, and spacing in fractions of a second. Constant micro-corrections.

Distance compresses. Density shifts.
The flock behaves like a single elastic body — expanding, folding, rippling in coordinated waves. Information travels faster than the eye can follow, cascading through the group as synchronized turns and fluid spirals.

This is what was inspiring to me to make some ambient tracks: folding melodies, shifting textures and some emotional content.

For this release, we leave our earthly plane behind to explore the vast unknown. Rambadu & Rosillon created interplanetary transmissions consisting of intricately layered sounds and managed to establish contact with three distant regions.

Starting our journey at "α 05h 40m 45.5s δ –01° 56′ 34″" we marked our first encounter of the fifth kind, initiating a clear line of communication.

On our second exploration we travel many more light-years away and stumble upon the rogue object "α 18h 01m 31.25s δ –29° 07′ 46.20″".

The third location "α 19h 01m 27.98s δ +39° 16′ 48.25″" dissolved the remaining assumptions we had about habitable zones.

Somewhere between dream, memory, and reality, new worlds will emerge.

All sleeves are hand-made with love!
