Ritual music for people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

As one of the founders of Voodoohop, Thomash has sparked innovation on the electronic scene. Through his multidisciplinary art collective he has caused great impact on the Brazilian underground music scene which over the years caused waves internationally. South american elements mixed with contemporary electronica are the essence of his work creating the feeling of being in a comfortable psychedelic dream.

Guided by a hedonistic attitude that stimulates individual and joint freedom of expression, his sound is a clever and unpretentious mix that combines slow melodic techno, krautrock, synthesizer layers, psychedelia, dub and ritualistic tropical rhythms.

Born in Germany, he lived in Brazil for 10 years which allowed him to absorb the exotic multicultural latin roots and combine them with the precision and minimalism of german electronic music.

Curiously, he also has a degree in artificial intelligence, which allows Thomash to create
a unique style full of oddly spaced percussion and detuned synthesizers working within their own logic, as if in a machine-learning universe.

Using his programming skills he developed tools that allow him to harmonically mix acoustic samples with live synthesizers and drum sequencers resulting in a unique hybrid between live and dj set that is always pulsing, changing and evolving.

Previous gigs include tours to Japan, South America, the USA, Canada and festivals such as  Sónar São Paulo, Melt! and Fusion, Lethargy and Wiener Festwochen..

VOODOOHOP is an outlandish art collective born from a series of underground parties and is now a striking artistic movement in Brazil. Through 6 years of collaborative events, Voodoohop has gathered a myriad of artists from different disciplines with the likes of Djs, live performers, dancers and visual artists. Together they have created a multi sensory tropical cabaret, mixing colourful and exuberant visuals, combined with elements of Brasilian traditional heritage and ritualistic performance. Nomadic in nature, the collective has transformed spaces ranging from abandoned buildings to natural hideaways. Always experimenting with different media and formats, Voodoohop is in constant flux.

Eulenspiegel is a mythical character of the 14th century and is surrounded by a mysterious charme. The berlin-born artist shows his own contemporary interpretation of this magical character and takes you on a journey into the unknown, into worlds of spherical sounds. Coming from Salvador, Bahia, URUBU learned early to flap her wings to the rythm. Before meeting the machines she met the drum skin. A persona that grew within Vodoohop parties and journeys. From that to a big digging into psychedelic melting with the brazilian most sounds, loads of vibrating skins, wooden samples and oscillators.

Since then has frequently traveled and performed in many countries and also through many cities around Brasil, developing each time a broader and diverse exploration of all corners on music spectrum. Since for 7 years has created a solid base in Europe playing in the most prestigious festivals.
