Dallas, Texas-based avant/tech death metal trio, BARING TEETH, is preparing for the long-awaited follow-up to their 2011 debut album, Atrophy, with the mangling Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins confirmed to drop via Willowtip Records in late November.

Previously known as Soviet, BARING TEETH is an act formed by three musicians having collectively spent time playing in a plethora of acts including Cleric, Between The Buried And Me, Broadcast Sea and others. Following their initial demo, Willowtip signed the band for the 2011 release of their debut album, Atrophy. Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins shows BARING TEETH sharpening its attack, the unsettled aggression of previous material heightened to a manic, primal belligerence. Immersive, hypnotic, and haunting, the album melds seemingly opposing characteristics — streamlined songwriting and dizzying technicality, ambience and brute force, density and angularity, order and chaos — into a fully realized, cohesive listening experience. Without sacrificing originality, the groundwork of Meshuggah and Gorguts gives in to modern and gritty dissonance where one may at times be reminded of everything from the technical intensity of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Flourishing, to the ominous realms of Deathspell Omega and Ulcerate. Comparative compliments aside, the band’s music continually applies and releases tension, while continually spiraling into a tension-infused amalgamation of chaotic but ultimately natural and captivating experimental death metal.

Recorded by Alex Bhore (This Will Destroy You) at Elmwood Recording, mixed by Keith Souza and Seth Manchester at Machines With Magnets (The Body, Battles, Daughters), and mastered by Alan Douches (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, Swans), Ghost Chorus Among Old Ruins takes the extremes of BARING TEETH’s debut to new levels while showcasing a singular vision: no compromise, no respite.

As a small country, the Dutch are far from doing bad when it comes to their contribution to the black metal scene, on the contrary and Tarnkappe proved this in 2014 with “Tussen Hun en de Zon”, a largely left unnoticed record of great magnitude, shame on you all! As a project of two members of bands such as Kjeld, Salacious Gods, Lugubre these guys are deeply rooted in the underground.

‘Winterwaker’ (meaning “Guardian of Winter” in English) by Tarnkappe is the follow-up that proves this quality-approach in full. In this case you will be caught by surprise totally, since this is a classic Black Metal album that needs to be heard. We would dare say this the traditional 90’s Black Metal record we all have been waiting for, records like this are not made anymore...

If you enjoy your Black Metal with an organic, natural sound, Tarnkappe will be on your to get. We would say that Tarnkappe revives the old 90’s Scandinavian spirit in full, but this would not justify what this band has achieved here. They are original enough to have their own sound. Great songs, razorsharp guitar riffs, insane vocals and a topnotch production is what you get. A hypnotizing, gloomy setting that makes this release sound ritualistic and captivating. All delivered in an ice-cold artwork.

If you like it cold, grim and traditional, and still feel melancholic on the early 90’s scene, then you need Tarnkappe!

W.T.C. PRODUCTIONS & DARK ADVERSARY PRODUCTIONS are proud to present the long-awaited third album of long-running black metal cult CRIMSON MOON, Oneironaut. CRIMSON MOON was established in 1994 by Scorpios Androctonus - known also for his work with Acherontas, Zemial, Demoncy, Melechesh, and Akrabu among others - as a solo project in the U.S. and relocated to Germany in 1998.

After working with different members throughout the years, 2016 reveals the long-awaited third full-length release titled Oneironaut. Four years in the making, this album has returned to the roots of the lineup and was written, performed, and recorded once again entirely by Scorpios Androctonus with additional guest appearances by members of Acherontas, Demoncy, and Ralph Santolla (ex-Deicide, Death, Obituary) on select tracks.

The aura of Oneironaut is a familiar one to previous CRIMSON MOON releases in the spirit and atmosphere, both musically and lyrically. A definite progression is also introduced in song structure and strategic use of additional instruments, including exotic instruments such as the Esraj, Frame Drums, Tanpura, Cretan Lyra, fretless acoustic bass, and innovative uses of acoustic guitars among other stringed instruments and percussion. The music of Oneironaut executes a blend of mystical, dream-like atmospheres which morph from violent and aggressive black metal synonymous with the occult atmosphere. Lyrically, the topics vary from traditional Necronomicon-inspired myths, Sumerian lore, astral projection, and lucid dreaming to content that covers homage to the old goddesses of worship, survival of the fittest/breaking the myths of equality, and spiritual transcendence.

As of 2016, CRIMSON MOON has established a new and potent full lineup which will debut its first live appearance in October of 2016, which will be the first live performance from CRIMSON MOON in nearly a decade, and the first time to perform live on European soil. More select live shows will follow and are being booked for the remainder of the year and 2017.

The new CRIMSON MOON new lineup consists of:

Embrace the Dawn – “The Effigist”

Two years after their first Promo EP, progressive metallers Embrace the Dawn are back with their first full length album “The Effigist”. Along with the bands founder Ben Tinker (Australia) on guitar, Embrace the Dawn sees a revamped line up sourced from around the globe. Denis Landry (Canada) takes up bass duties, Kevin Talley (USA) on drums, and Roger Isaksen (Norway) completes the line-up on vocals. 

The album, mixed by acclaimed producer Eyal Levi, focuses mainly on Embrace the Dawn’s trademark progressive style, with it, The Effigist brings plenty of technical, thrash, and symphonic metal elements into the fray. Founded early in 2015, KLONQUE is a German based progressive metal group hailing from Berlin and Frankfurt. The group is fronted by Thomas Neitsch (Holy Moses) and Peter Geltat (Holy Moses), both on lead guitars and vocals. KLONQUE is completed by Gerd Lücking (Holy Moses, ex Courageous) on drums and Ishay Sommer (The Outside, Ahvak) on Bass.

After playing thrash together for 20 years, Thomas and Peter have evolved from being side men to front men, both taking on guitars and vocals. Fueled by the desire to create hard, fast and complex metal, they started combining death, thrash, black and progressive technical elements. 

Because the two have been friends and bandmates since high school, songwriting together is second nature. Thomas exchanged his bass guitar, which he wielded for most roles over the last years, for a 12 string guitar.

Peter: "People don't really know it, but Thomas is a really great guitar player. He wrote a lot of the riffs and songs for Redefined Mayhem."

Since the foundation of KLONQUE, four instrumental play­through videos have been released on YouTube ( https://goo.gl/WcAZjd ). Vocals have been recorded with the songs. 

Thomas: "We discovered that our voices fit really well together, when we made pre-production for Holy Moses Redefined Mayhem. With KLONQUE we try to go further and include more melodical lines. As the Beauty and the Beast, but instead of the Beauty just… well, two furry beasts".

KLONQUE incorporates a variety of metal elements into their compositions. Each song is layered heavily in thrash, with grooving bass licks, interweaved progressive solos, and traces of death and black metal all tied together with the accelerated pace of the drums. 
It is clear that bands such as The Haunted, Mastodon, Extol and Gojira have a heavy influence on these compositions. Thomas and Peter are able to translate their musical ideas into vocal expressions. The lyrical themes range from philosophical nihilism and horror to political criticism against nazi fucktards.Thomas growls disdainfully whilst Peter screams about the naked realities of this world. The visual images conjured by these lyrics are intended to provoke critical thought.
