Pourquoi avoir choisi cette scène ?
Parce qu'elle est en tout point admirable, visionnaire et fascinante ! Et cela pour plusieurs raisons.
Premièrement elle s'insère dans le film sans raison apparente. Elle n'ajoute rien semble-t-il. Une sorte de parenthèse, de digression pseudo philosophique.
Deux cinéastes de génie se rencontrent et se télescopent et peut-être se provoquent. L'un, Jean Luc Godart, jeune cinéaste, fait parler l'autre...
Et ce que dit J-P Melville est à tiroirs. Toute cette scène est à tiroirs !
A la première écoute on entend Melville tenir un discours misogyne. Parce qu'à la première écoute on s'attache beaucoup plus aux réponses de Melville qu'aux questions qui lui sont posées.
Second tiroir : On observe les questions qui lui sont posées.
Troisième tiroir : on découvre alors que la pertinence des réponses que donne Melville est fonction de la pertinence des questions. Plus les questions sont idiotes et plus Melville répond bêtement.
Cette scène est donc d'une modernité incroyable - Elle annonce le règne des médias et la platitude du discours médiatique, et Melville s'en sort admirablement dans le rôle que Godart lui a donné -

After the great KOBOI EP and the internationally acclaimed song and videoclip It's Happening,  the transmedia artist KnoR is presenting his new project entitled “Don’t Go”. The 3 tracks music release features a music video and a mobile app. As a modern storyteller, KnoR reaches from pop music to virtual reality (VR) to spread a message of freedom. No less.

KnoR's new EP “Don’t Go” is composed of two original tracks and a remix by Canson. The title track Don't Go is a rich and surprising song: as the beat brings the listener back to the club, the lyrics are floating on a warm bass melody surrounded by a soundscape of rhythms with a very natural feel.

The message of the song is intensified in the music video realised with Berlin based filmmaker Xaver Xylophon. The movie invites the audience to step back and think. Walking through his life, KnoR questions his relationship to this place we call home: a place with borders and a nawhere we are too easily fooled.

The cornerstone of the release is the VR application developed with the computational artist Mativa and the Geneva based interactive studio apelab. “Don’t Go” becomes a virtual refuge where the user can immerse in an experience of total perception to forget his fears and the influence of daily media propaganda.

Atlant's relentless quest for emerging electronic talent sees us traverse the northern Swiss Plateau to Zürich for the rich innovative sounds of Soma Soul. To make this release something truly special we also summoned Afterlife mainstay / rising star Colyn and Atlant label owner BOg to each add their unique perspective to Soma Soul's two emotive originals.

Having already featured on last month's Atlant VOYAGER VA Soma Soul (Francesco Parla, Ralph Wirth) now take centre stage to build upon fine releases for Jonas Rathsman's ELEMENTS, Endangered and RADIANT. Both originals feature the beguiling vocals of the UK's Ed Begley.

The ambient intimate and unique textures of title track 'Complacency' really showcase what Soma Soul are all about. Cascading piano lines, cinematic sweeps and classy restraint really emphasise each softly sung lyric, with the sum of all parts creating wonderment and beauty.

For the remix we called on Colyn, fresh from his 'Concepts Of Love' EP for RÜFÜS DU SOL's Rose Avenue plus tracks on the mighty Afterlife UNITY and DGTL's latest VA. Colyn gives a remixing masterclass, using Ed's melancholic vocal as the foundation to craft layer upon layer of heart wrenching melodies as the pure emotion of 'Complacency' digs deep into your soul.
