Saytek is back on his Cubism imprint this June with the ‘Live (not) on Tour’ release featuring five tracks taken from live streams over last year. 

Over the past few years, UK artist, Saytek (aka Joseph Keevill) has carved himself a reputation as one of the electronic music scene's most innovative live acts thanks to his impressive improvised shows. 

Saytek has been described by Cox as "Absolute Genius when it comes to live" - a sentiment echoed by his fans and many across the industry due to his mastery of machines (including analogue synths, sequencers and drum machines) combined with unique energy and an ear for melody. His sound is broad and genre-defying, taking listeners on a journey through underground house, acid & techno that is tough yet intricate and deep. Saytek's esteemed "Live On Tour" series features an accumulation of live tracks recorded at shows over the years and has been met with acclaim from Carl Cox, Nicole Moudaber and John Digweed, who all supported on their renowned radio shows. 

Due to the pandemic, "Live On Tour" was brought to a close, but this period has led to Saytek creating more live material than ever with various live streams performed over the last year. Saytek is keen to keep releases flowing on Cubism, so the tracks on offer here were recorded live during Saytek's streams and edited out with next to no post-production. 

The five tracks display Saytek's energetic production prowess with uplifting atmospheres, rolling grooves and invigorating synthesis featuring throughout the cuts. 

Saytek ‘Live (not) on Tour’ is out via Cubism on 26th May 2021.

Italian producer Alberto Melloni collaborates with Mexican producer Alex Aguayo on a four-track EP titled ‘Matter of time’. The EP comprises two uplifting originals along with two floor-filling remixes from Tulioxi and Empathy Slow. Alberto & Alex have featured on labels such as Nein Records, Paradiso and Emerald & Doreen are back with another stomping release on Inflect Records

Just in time for the return of dance and perfect for the summer season. “Set You Free” offers up an array of submerged deep basslines that are layered over exhilarating progressive leads in a soundscape concoction. The result is a contrast of emotions throughout the EP from ecstasy to reflectiveness leaving you with a sense of reflection both within the music and of the troubles of today, as they seem to drift away and become a distant memory.

Premiere: Alex Aguayo & Alberto Melloni  “Set You Free” - Inflect Records

Taken from "Monokompatibel - Rawgenic EP (Trapez ltd)". Out September 24th 2021.

Monokompatibel are Michael Wirtz, Andreas Kolinski and Severin Schultze. They feature the artist BlackIsBeautiful in their second EP for Trapez ltd.
The follow up EP fishes more in deep waters especially the track: "Borborygm". Its minimal techno style features a stronger melodic note due to BlackIsBeautiful who has reworked some of his ideas together with Michael Wirtz and Andreas Kolinski .
"Nincompoop" is more stripped down but contains a reduced acid sequence that is very playful but nevertheless has a strong German identity to it.
The track "mRNA" contains micro percussive elements that create a subtle nervous energy on behalf of an atmospheric sci-fi soundtrack with is thoughtful and establishes a momentum which is well maintained.
