🎶 Welcome to MIAOMIX18 by Miao Music Copenhagen with our new guests, Elias Gozal!

With last year’s debut vinyl release, Alias: Pure Distance, multiple residencies, and local club night Floorcast, Elias Gozal is truly a representation of the eclectic Copenhagen sound pioneering the scene. 

Elias Gozal started playing records in their basement as a 14-year-old and has since traveled Europe with residencies in both Copenhagen and Paris. Elias was raised by their North African Jewish mother and spent parts of their childhood in Caracas, Venezuela, with their aunt, prompting Elias to draw inspiration from both South American drum music as well as the mysticism of North Africa.
 
It is this blend of modern and ancient tradition that truly distinguishes Elias's approach to electronic music from their peers in the local scene and something that is not just an aesthetic choice but an authentic expression of a unique cultural heritage. As a DJ and selector, Elias has developed a skill set that allows them to mix a wildly wide mix of styles without ever losing focus on what the dance floor needs - a familiar yet excitingly different experience.

TM8 Q: Favourite club and why?
A: "I struggle to find the time for making music and going out as much as I used to, so these days I prefer to save my energy for special nights. However, if I had to choose, I would go for Säule (Berghain) due to its intimate size, carefully curated line-ups and atmosphere at Thursday events, and RSO for the sound system and wide variety of parties."

Polish DJ and producer Agata shares a luminous mix to ease us into the week. Layered with trance-infused techno, psy and tek, the Berlin-based artist blends dreamy melodies, sturdy drums, rippling basslines and spacious sound design into one sleek package. Since her first EP, "Realign", which she self-released last year, Agata has contributed her enchanting tracks to labels like @deestricted, @nobordersmusic, @mmuussaa and our own label, tm8.club, where she delivered the club-cut track "Drip". Affiliated with Berlin-based @blvsh_collective, which supports *FLINTA artists in the local scene, you can find Agata playing at M01 on 13.04 for the BLVSH x EVOLVE showcase.

Guist is an upcoming producer and Dj from Freiburg. As a big music enthusiast for all of his life he started playing the drums at an early age and played in different Metal bands since the age of 12. Over the years he developed a deep love for techno music and the club culture. In 2022, he embarked on a new chapter, venturing into music production, with a distinct emphasis on crafting rhythmic percussion-driven tracks.

Nightlife fiend, activist and the driving force behind Queer Spaces Network and FEMXCORE, Mother Menace is most definitely not a newcommer although they could be dubbed a “new face” behind the decks. Their sound consists of acid coated ghettotech and it is (much like their platform) an outlet for the frustration of the underprivileged.

@naominitel is coming back to Kluster with the "Dinosaur’s Garden" set that was played at the Kristmass event. A closing set with super high energy, navigating between dark disco rock and old trance.

"This podcast is a re-recording of the set I played at Kluster’s Unkristmas party in December, exactly as it was played then. 
It reminds me of a moment of grace of pure connection with the audience, in the midst of a particularly wholesome party atmosphere, and a special artistic achievement for me. I felt that I was finally able to wander out of my usual stylistic confort zone, and into higher energies and BPMs, while still for the first time preserving the musical identity and influences that you know me for: psychedelic, rock, dark, but also bright, full of the contrasted emotions I try to convey in mixing. It was beautiful that it happened at this time and place, and I hope you will enjoy remembering (or discovering it) just as much as I did. 🌞🦖"
