I am a poet, radio presenter and Dj
I am proud to have played a part in innovating, spoken word and open mic
nights in Manchester over the last 20 years. 
In 1999 I was a founding member of Speakeasy - a collective of poets,
singers Dj’s and dancers.  This evolved into an award-winning event where
I sculpted my vocal craft. 
I have collaborated on projects with AHRC, Coventry, Birmingham and
Manchester University.  And been a contributor to both Wordsmith and
Young Identity poetry education organisation’s.

Hozza Marie began writing poetry in the 5th grade, under the motivation of her then teacher, Mr. Allan Dwyer. Her talent was again encouraged by her favorite high school English teacher, Brian Taylor, who pushed her more than ever, and helped to develop her abilities. Since then, she has written many pieces on a wide spectrum of topics. Only recently has she really committed herself to her poetry, in an effort to truly master this art and share her passion for poetry with family, friends and all those she may encounter along the way.

Hozza Marie prides herself in her salvation, and feels that her talent as a poet is truly a blessing from God. 

When asked about her writings, she responded, "I feel that my writings are the only truly honest medium where I can talk to myself...most often about myself. My poetry allows me to also take on the voice of the voiceless, and shed light on issues that are dear to my heart. More importantly than that, I hope that my writing exemplifies my reflections on God's reign over my life."
