Stoked to share this brilliant modern boogie number by Tommy Rawson from Bristol-based label Bergerac, helmed by Red Rack'em. 

The whole EP, out this week, is killer. The label have a heart-warming story behind it, which you can read below!

"It's nothing short of a miracle that the A side track 'Illusions' has ever made it on to vinyl. Jonna from City Fly remembers 'Adam had this on a CDR at Southport in 2008 and it became our official track of the festival as we all partied together the whole weekend it got played again and again back at our Chalet parties'. But then as these things often sadly go, the funk diamond was lost for a few years in the digital ether. Fast forward to 2014 and Danny Berman aka Red Rack'em is playing a 320 of 'Illusions' everywhere but alas it's just a demo and Adam can't locate the arrangement to complete the track as it's on a broken computer in his mun's attic.

Then finally this year, after many pleading emails and plenty of gentle cajoling, there's some amazing news! Adam has located the broken computer and after a day of digital open heart surgery, and then a re-edit over Zoom (no really) we finally had the killer, classic UK soulful anthem you're listening to today. A voice over from a disco documentary cleverly introduces each instrument on the intro before Tommy pushes the button marked 'biggest bassline of the year' and takes us into boogie heaven."

Whilst her Roselien moniker has been rushing through the London jazz, soul and rnb scene by various live shows downtown and her monthly "La Vie En Rose" radio show on Totally Wired Radio in the east side of town, her newest project Rosie From The Block is coming out of the blue on your favourite cities' label with refreshing but sharp broken beats, soulful and gospel like vocals along with a strong message and a soft touch of herself.

She already caught attention and support from big names worldwide such as Lefto, Erica McKoy and Reggie Watts, a remix done by Broken Beat's leading artist Kaidi Tatham and done support shows for Gregory Porter, Meshel Ndegeocello, The Jones Girls, Bilal and Gabriel Garzon Montano, Roselien is at least Belgium's hardest working girl within her niche.

As Roselien, her vocals were always the leading factor in her music, but Rosie From The Block shows her tougher side within by giving the full attention to her instrumentals and adding lyrics in function of her jams.

The lush and mellow floater she gave the name “you are loved” is a confirmational necessity for anyone in need. Strong drum accompany her carefully chosen chords down a slide of endorphins.

How deep can you go? Well, you better ask Japanese master Jank! Jank is another example of these “hidden gems”, but releasing on labels like City Fly, Mysterious Works and Boogie Café says it all. The “Piece of ballad ep” on Quintessentials is super deep and emotional House music. Keeping the BPM low and adding soul power and a jazzy laidback feel make these 3 tunes massive. Don’t look away if you’re into Theo Parrish and alikes!

After spending most of 2020 putting music out on respected labels like Far Out Recordings, Sonar Kollektiv and Oye Black Label, Croatian producer Jan Kincl is kick starting 2021 with a 4-track EP featuring a remix from Atlanta-based house don Kai Alcé. The record's coming out in March for Save The Groove, a sublabel of a long-running Neapolitan label Frole Records, who's artist roster includes Gari Romalis, Norm Talley, Todd Teddy, Rick Wade, Orlando Voorn and many more.
 
The EP is titled "It's Been A While" and consists of three original pieces; Jan's solo produced "Love's So Far Away", two featuring a French keyboard player Regis Kattie - "Day By Day" and "Just Stay (Dub)", and "Just Stay (Kai Alcé Remix)".

B1 "Just Stay (Kai Alcé Remix)" is a masterful reinterpretation of "Just Stay", which transforms the otherwise more laidback original into a driving 3am house tune.
