Marques has been instrumental in putting Los Angeles on the dance music map. He has given LA’s dance scene the coveted credibility in the electronic music industry to rival the likes of New York and Miami. He is one of the few DJ's that have managed to cross pollinate audiences and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors. 

This is the Oasis poolside set from our Cosmic Opera event. We are excited to share this unforgettable set with those of you who were not in attendance and to those who want to relive this epic day party.

Tulum Come Down

This mix is inspired by two incredible weeks I spent in Tulum, Mexico to begin the new year. I'm grateful to have been able to play music with some extremely talented artists, at some amazing venues, both indoor and outdoor.  From the pristine white sand beaches, to the tropical heat of the jungle, to the dusty pavement of the small town, one can really feel a magical connection with this land. We danced with passion, explored the jungle, swam in cenotes, slept on the beach, took naps in hammocks, ate phenomenal fresh local cuisine, watched the sunset and sunrise daily, and celebrated life with many beautiful friends, both old and new. This mix is dedicated to all those wonderful people. The sonic journey ends with a field recording I made on the last day; one final rain shower to wash away any and all remaining negative energy. I hope this mix relaxes you and takes you on positive journey, guiding you into a healthy and prosperous 2016.  ~ Sabo

What a surreal existence we are all sharing at the moment.  Time is standing still now it seems.  The wait for an answer. The wait for the light at the end of tunnel, wherever we may be.   

I often think of my life pre corona virus and I feel it took, place ages ago.  In some other distant time when almost everything was a given.   Not now though.   

Only thing that is a given now is the power of love. 

The power of compassion. 
The power of empathy.  
The power of inwardness. 

The power of realizing that nothing is ever to be taken for granted.  

The power of gratitude.    

We are in a part of the world that allows us to suspend our reality here and there.  I plunge in the ocean as if the water is oxygen. Every drop on my body reminds me to breath the air.  To be present and to remember that the water I feel is the same water someone else feels on the other side of the seemingly infinite horizon.  
But it’s not infinite.  Nothing is.  
Only love.  
Love is infinite.  
Love is everything. 

And so is music.  

It is what has brought me all thats is pure in my life.   
That is true.  
This is why you’re listening now. 
This is why it’s never more important to feel, to taste, to hear  and see music.  It’s why I’ve called you to us.  It’s why my brothers are with me today. 

Please close your eyes now. 
Let’s suspend our reality and allow immense optimism reign.

 To honor the lovely island of Jamaica, this dj set is simply my favorite feel good reggae tunes.  You will hear dub, conscious dancehall, lovers rock, ska,  and traditional roots reggae songs. Jamaica's musical influence is also heard in some Latin, West African, Turkish, Arabic, and Isreali tunes as well.  I really tried to tell a story with the songs, so I encourage you to listen closely to the lyrics, which speak about uniting together, becoming a better version of your self, the problems and challenges with money, the joy of smoking marijuana, everyday struggles, living good, and of course, LOVE. Almost all of these tracks I own on vinyl, and I had such a blast recording these all week long, just vibing on down memory lane, in preparation for  this set. We're here for our special friend Onur Çelik's 40th birthday. We've had a 6-month lock-down, been unable to spend quality time together this year, burning Man 2020 was canceled, a second wave of Covid has just hit Europe and we don't know when we'll all be together again, so we're going out with a bang!

This is the last set of the week, the music, performances, workshops & art have been incredible all week. Nothing about this set was pre-planned, each track selection was chosen purely by the energy and vibe from the audience on the dance floor. Not your normal conventional mix but one everyone present that night at Bonjuk Bay will remember for a long....long time.

When the closing DJ found himself with no more Sloth Disco music (aka sexy and slow beats no higher than 110 bpm) I had to jump in the last hour, because you just can't stop a giant cuddle puddle that is 15 mins away from going full-on orgy from platonic coconut oil massages… (Stick until the end to hear the surprise mix that would make Mr. Trent Reznor be proud of how his music was mixed…)   ;)

In the Burning Man  of 8 years gone by, a story of two wanderers with a history for cross-pollinating the sounds of yesterday with the sounds of tomorrow found their moment. With a shared taste in gourmet percussion, deep and rare rhythms, and cosmic culture, what resulted was KMLN — one of the most time-bending and pulsating acts currently circulating the global deep-eclectic house dance movement. 

The international shapeshifting duo, KMLN (pronounced “Kameleon”) unites Italian producer/multi-instrumentalist Christopher Tooker and Canadian /producer Shawna Hofmann. Find them singing, playing live bass, percussion,  looping  or guest musicians, you never know what to expect, every show is different. As interplanetary travelers and cultural explorers, the KMLN ship bends reality through sound, moving through tempos with layers and layers of mind altering colors.

Last year alone, the KMLN ship landed in over 21 countries worldwide.
