From the deep landscapes of the Scottish Highlands to the thriving bustling centre of Glasgow’s electronic music scene, Lewis Lowe’s journey in music has been one of reconnection. As co-founder behind Redstone Press, the label he co-founded with lifelong friend Ethan Harfield (aka Pseudopolis) in 2017, Lowe has steadily been carving out a space for Scottish talent within the broader spectrum of UK dance music. First bonding in primary school, the pair lost touch for several years only to reconnect as teenagers whilst partying at some free parties in the Highlands.  This rekindled friendship evolved into what is Redstone Press today, with the pair launching the label as a platform to release Ethan’s music and to champion other homegrown artists. Over the past six years, Redstone Press has continued to grow into a respected imprint, releasing a mix of muscular broken-beat techno and industrial steppers to more longform reflective club excursions. With recent releases from the likes of Tammo Hesselink, Gesture, and Tano the label has taken its forward-thinking ethos of blending intricate rhythms with raw, emotive energy to the next level.

The eclecticism and diversity of various cities have blended with her UK influences—trip hop, breakbeat, drum & bass, and dub—resulting in downbeat, breaky selections with a wicked streak.

The head honcho of ДРОБ, label manager, DJ, producer, and all-around charmer—Garo is a man of many talents. Based in Berlin, yet deeply rooted in Sofia’s soundscape, he has been a key figure in shaping the scene since the early days. Luckily for us, he has also taken the role of a good friend and constant supporter throughout our own musical journeys.

Notorious for his vast vinyl collection, Garo never arrives without a bag stacked with old school gems, obscure house bangers, and the kind of oddities only he can unearth. He thrives on surprising the dance floor and spreading his unmatched aura wherever he plays. 

In his Escape Route podcast, Garo reveals a rarely seen side of himself—one that is both intriguing and soothing. The perfect soundtrack for after-hours floor explorations into the void, but also serving well as a Monday blues remedy.

This mix was inspired by the time I spent in my hometown Belgrade following the period of being quite musically inactive and physically away. Amid events unfolding in Serbia, there was one particular incident with a 2-year-old child named Danka, who disappeared. The emotions and memories of this accident have been tried to be captured in this mix. A fight for our children's brighter and safer future and a much better tomorrow is yet to come. But contributing in any way to that struggle or being conscious about the problems these children and our society are facing is something I dared to commit to and tried to understand.
Challenged by this immense inspiration, I have decided to do something I'd never done before. I've recorded a mix that starts from 80-something bpms and gradually develops into 120 and something bpms (without any particular preparation). By doing this, I also wanted to give my best and honour a great and personally very well respected artist who played after me on that occasion.

Already a year has passed and Danka Ilić has never been found.
