His first full-length CD album, 64, was influenced by his early years as a chiptune producer in the 1980s Commodore 64 scene. In 2005, he released A Brand New World digitally on Beatport, reflecting his shift toward a Progressive sound. Later releases, Mind Your Matter and Gravitons, received support from well-known DJs, including Armin van Buuren and Markus Schulz.

Italian maestro Gai Barone makes his debut with 'Red Wine' 

Red Wine brings great energy and a progressive underpinning to proceedings. If anything represents Gai Barone's 'euphoric melancholy' self-styling, 'Red Wine' certainly hits that spot. Wonderful warm sustained and overdriven melodies with nuances of saturation become Gai's sound palette as he paints an aural image or rare vivacity and reflection. Ticking hi-hats and off-beat percussion keep the energy high as the sounds cascade effortlessly from their rhythmic anchor. This is clearly music borne of passion and outstanding technique.

A Cold Day in April

Bjorn Fogelberg - A Cold Day in April [XAKK Records]

XAKK is back with its first collaborative release of the year, courtesy of Swedish producers Bjorn Fogelberg and John Keding. Both artists have been active in the progressive house and electronic music scenes for decades, with recent solo and joint releases on labels such as Dissident, RKP, ICONYC, Freegrant, Krafted, Hexagonal, and more.

Their new EP, Stellar, delivers three versions of the title track, each offering a slightly different take on the deeper side of progressive house.

The Original Mix features a steady, driving groove, rumbling low-end, and spacious pads. Airy stabs and restrained melodic elements help create a hypnotic atmosphere throughout the track.

The Sunset Remix moves into darker territory, adding more weight with deeper pads, dissonant stabs, and menacing yet warm synth swells.

Finally, the Sunrise Remix brings more energy and melodic variation while maintaining the depth and drive of both the original and the Sunset mix.

His journey into the world of electronic music began in the mid-80s when he learned how to make music on a Commodore 64 computer. He has released three full-length albums; 64 (1996), Karooshi Porn (1999), and Focus (2017). His music has been supported and played by many top-tier DJs over the years, including Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Yotto, Solarstone, Jaytech, DJ Ruby, Anthony Pappa, Ruben Karapetyan and more. In addition to being featured in films such as How to Stop Being a Loser, Björn's music has also been used in computer games; Deep Sea Tycoon: Diver's Paradise, Super Laser Racer, Club Penguin, and the arcade game Pump it up pro 2.
