Traccia tributo al filosofo francese Guy Debord.
Essendo un tributo mi sento di dover spendere qualche parola a riguardo sul concetto di spettacolo e sui Rave Party:

Guy Debord nel suo testo “La società dello spettacolo” spiega quasi anticipando la nostra realtà come l'industrializzazione e la mercificazione hanno trasformato ogni individuo in immagine e quindi in merce. Lo spettacolo è diventato la principale produzione della società attuale.
Questo si ripropone in varie forme: dai rapporti sociali, alla pubblicità e anche nella gestione del tempo libero(E’ la società liquida che indirizza gli individui a come come utilizzarlo).
La società capitalista tende apparentemente a donare libertà al soggetto; si è liberi dai vincoli, ma non si è liberi di agire. Il prendere decisioni di come gestire il proprio tempo viene barattato con il potere pacificatorio di seguire le ragioni altrui. I soggetti pur di seguire le masse accettano di perdere la propria parte di libertà.
Questo si lega al mondo della tekno e dei Rave Party perché, almeno in teoria, i Rave vanno contro tutto il concetto di merce e di spettacolo illustrato prima: sono eventi gratuiti, viene suonata musica non commerciale, non c’è scopo di lucro ma solo quello di far divertire le persone. Non esiste il concetto di idolare colui che suona, molte volte non si sa nemmeno chi sta suonando, c’è un annientamento dell'immagine dell’individuo, andando a esaltare il sound system che come un totem si erge nel mezzo del Rave Party.
Durante un rave si può esplorare il luogo. Non ci sono limiti di spazio, non c'è il ricreare le norme sociali in altri modi e secondo altre modalità, al contrario delle discoteche in cui ci sono le liste per entrare, il privè, i buttafuori, un codice di vestiario da rispettare. In un rave ciò non accade, ognuno è libero di essere se stesso. In questi eventi non c'è una gerarchia che distingua il pubblico dagli organizzatori. Si ricerca un effetto di decentramento strutturale a favore del pubblico e dello spazio per ballare.
Anche il concetto del tempo stesso si perde, ribaltando così quella società che viene scandita e scolpita dal passare del tempo rappresentato dal denaro. Oggi giorno è il denaro che indica il valore di una persona e tutta la società si muove a seconda dei tempi di produzione delle merci. Nelle feste quando parte la musica, va avanti imperterrita, non rispetta gli orari comuni. Le leggi temporali vengono meno e anzi la concezione durante “il rito” si perde.
In questo modo tramite i Rave si può evadere dalla società.

La realtà considerata parzialmente si afferma nella propria unità generale in quanto pseudo-mondo a parte, oggetto della sola contemplazione.

La specializzazione delle immagini del mondo si ritrova compiuta, nel mondo autonomizzato dell’immagine in cui il bugiardo ha mentito a se stesso.

Lo spettacolo in generale, come inversione concreta della vita è il movimento autonomo del non-vivente.

Nel mondo realmente rovesciato, il vero è un momento del falso.

Teaming up with Andre Salmon - who’s released on Repopulate Mars, Leftroom and Resonance - ‘Hey Honey’ is a trippy number complete with a heady groove, chopped-up vox samples and synth stabs that’s destined to inject life into any dancefloor it’s dropped.

About the Ep:
Carl Cox is an iconic figurehead of the electronic music industry, whose influential legacy includes his much famed label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell.

This new release is from Matt Sassari who is a French producer presenting a solo EP following his collaboration with D-Unity, which was released on Intec earlier in the year was a much anticipated follow-up to their top selling EP titled “Fire Up” 

This is Matt Sassari’s first solo EP for Intec and his music can also be found on labels including SCI+TEC, Tronic, Bitten, and UMEK’s 1605, amongst many others of a similar calibre. He has also featured a solo EP on Techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson’s label KMS Records.

Also a popular DJ who regularly flies between continents to headline some of the world’s best clubs, this release is trademark of Matt Sassari’s diverse sound that incorporates tough percussion with rolling grooves and intense atmosphere.

“Rock Trick” opens the EP with a thundering kick drum and clattering atmospheric percussion, which sound like the inner workings of a powerful machine. Full of torque and an abundance of horsepower, this tracks full throttle groove is enough to rock the foundations of any Techno club.

Second is the dark atmosphere and growing tension of "Brigade" that packs in rubbery textures and spooky FX, which is not for the feint hearted. Building with snare rolls and unnerving vocal bursts, each bass drop grows with impact and the dancefloor intensity increases.
