The clock chimed loudly in the empty square but there was nobody left to hear it. They had all left this town long ago, escaping the concrete jungle for a warmer, more welcoming climate.

The ticking of the old thing was perhaps the only sign that anyone had in fact ever lived here. Soon that too would stop and there would be no sense of time to guide what remained of this old place.

Who knew when the final five minutes might be up?

After the legendary French Ethno-industrial group Vox Populi! faded into obscurity in the early 1990s, members Arash Khalatbari, Ariel Kyrou, Axel Kyrou, Chester Harlan, Mithra, Pierre Jolivet and Francis Manne all embarked on new artistic adventures in their own way. Some, like bassist Francis Lafont aka fr6 Manne, aka Kosa Nostra, aka Kosa and Friends, left Paris to make a profound change in his life. He settled in Lyon and traded his job as a graphic artist and musician for that of a landscape designer. From his pure artistic universe, he has never stopped making music.

Today, Notte Brigante presents “Kosa and Friends 1987/97”, twelve previously unreleased recordings that illustrate Francis Laffont’s ongoing musical creation following the dissolution of the group Vox Populi! With the music and video collective “Kosa and Friends,” he welcomes attentive listeners into an eccentric world of pop and poetry, experimentation and groove. Kosa blurs the lines between proto funk and post punk, indie and cold wave.

Rain Dance by Birds is the first release on Feed The Void, the record label that takes its name from her monthly Netil Radio show. The aim of the label is to shed a light on some of the vast influences that inspire the Birds sound and the music she plays throughout her eclectic DJ sets. Expect plenty of EBM, acid, trance, breaks, electro, slow prog, chug and more. This self release is just the beginning before a series of VAs containing some of her favourite artists and friends. 

The EP itself is a huge melting pot of electro bass-lines, Birds’ distinctive EBM / dark wave inspired vocals, wonky acid, industrial sounding broken rhythms and quirky, unhinged synth lines.

Opening track ‘Trust Me’ sets the precedent for the EP and label with the lyrics “trust me, you’v not seen anything yet.” In other words, expect the unexpected.

‘Living With Liars’ opens with some pretty ferocious percussive drum beats before bursting into a spacey electro inspired bass line, interwoven with a squelchy distorted 303 and slick post-punk vocals.

‘Rain Dance’ is the heavy hitter of the EP, with a much higher BPM, an earth shaking amount of bass, a wonky MS20 line and fuzz guitar that seems to come out of nowhere. This title track is nothing like you’ve ever heard from Birds before which is why she chose it as the title track.

Closer ‘The Sands of Perception’ is a track inspired a passage from Aldous Huxley’s ‘The Doors of Perception.’ Tempo wise, we’re brought back to the mid range, whilst the ominous EBM inspired bass-line contrasts to the warm strings and uplifting vocals. It’s a euphoric ending to one hell of an intense ride.

Everyone is an observer at some point in time. Everybody is watching, observing, researching something in own life.

Whether it is the old Hindu looking forward to the time when his body will be carried in a shroud to the last journey to the Ganges by the scent of flowers and then he has been liberated from the cycle of samsara, or when the cataphract is finally done with its struggle and freed from its armour somewhere in the midst of the steppes of Eurasia.

Whether it is the blind man who enters his inner garden of silence and explores there the images that none of the rest of us can see.

Whether it is the viewer who floats in a difficult to grasp triptych.

What is "there" behind that observation? Something modest, or something that changes our lives?

After more than two years Martin Kuška returns with his project Goodbye Mirage with a new EP "Turning Point Observer". A hypnotic dreamy-progressive five track and five remixes EP, in whose tracks you can constantly search for something new - the endless faith or doubt, the loneliness of days or the shining energy of social moments yet to come, body to body.

When you hear it on the dance floor, you can dance and smile, or dance and feel deep sentiment. It's up to you. The possibilities are endless as the vast ocean - let yourself go and become an observer of... who knows... perhaps a turning point in your life.

There wasn’t anywhere else like it, no place in earth could evoke the same feelings of wild desire, freedom and magic. As the sunlight began to fade over the campsite, they sat in the foothills of the tall mountain which would watch over them through the night and keep them safe.

The air here was clean and warm, a soft breeze was the only thing to unsettle the branches of the trees which lined their enclave in the forest. A fire burnt in the middle of the clearing.

In the distance they could hear the sound of the birds soaring upon the evening wind.

Electric Shapes are set to release a new EP from HOS – a deep, pensive, percussive listen built for dark rooms and private moments.

Impair Pierre is Léonard Lampion's new alias, created as an escape route from dark basements and the influence of club music. Since 2017, Impair Pierre has been writing songs in his office in Grenoble using synthesisers, guitar, and voice. Finding inspiration in the events of everyday life, he seeks to develop a form of minimalism.

Promenades de jour - this record developed from a desire to write songs that were relatively refined and spontaneous. It brings together experiments with the Yamaha PS-20 synth, songs imbued with a certain melancholy, and others with a more satirical bent. The record is a succession of photos, landscapes, and situations both real and imaginary, like a walk in the spring sun.
