What can be said about Acen's legendary Trip II The Moon that hasn't already been said? 

It's a legendary tune, widely considered one of the best ever made. Arguments over which version is the best regularly almost come to blows. It charted for four weeks in the UK Top 40 (and unlike certain digital store charts where you only need to sell a couple dozen units to place high, that's a chart that means something). It influenced countless producers across innumerable genres over the years, from bedroom producers who never took the step to let people hear their material clear through to the absolute biggest names in music today. 

Even calling it legendary is doing it a disservice. There isn't a word in ANY language for how important Trip II The Moon in all its parts is to electronic music. Even now, doing this write-up, I feel like I'm not saying enough about it. I'm not sure I ever could. You could write a book, heck, a SERIES of books, on how it influenced electronic music in the many years since the first part came out in 1992, and still not cover it all. 

A bit of a personal story (hi everyone, Saiyan here, I do all the uploading on this account), I have a friend named Acen, whose parents named him that BECAUSE OF THIS TRACK. He's a good dude, by the way. Hi Acen, congratulations you've been immortalized in a Soundcloud write-up lol 

I could spend the next week touching on the importance of Trip II The Moon to music, but by then the boxed set would be up for preorder and I still wouldn't have posted these clips, so let's just call it here and get to the reason you're all here.

So here it is, perhaps the biggest release in Kniteforce history, the Acen - Trip II The Moon boxed set. Five vinyls, comprising all of the original versions and their b-sides, all lovingly remastered by CLSM, a host of new remixes by names like Danny Byrd, Pete Cannon, NRG, Scott Brown, Phuture Assassins, and more!

One entire vinyl is devoted to entirely new versions from Acen himself: Trip II The Moon 2092, Obsessed 2092 (Bite The Dust), Life and Crimes of A Ruffneck 2092, and an entirely new track called Rings Around The Moon (which I absolutely adore).

Oh, apologies, did I say five vinyls? Yeah about that, it's actually six. There's a sixth bonus COLOURED vinyl, featuring the previously unreleased dubplate mix of Trip II The Moon Part 2, the Omar Santana remix (which came to be known unofficially as Trip II The Moon Part 4), the D-Bridges Desire Mix of Obsessed, and something you don't see every day: Luna-C's infamous Rip To The Loon, upgraded to official remix status and pressed to vinyl for the very first time.

And that's STILL not all. The boxed set also includes a bonus CD with even more additional remixes (no clips for those, they're a surprise), AND a slipmat.

To be completely clear, the sixth bonus vinyl, the CD, and the slipmat are bonus items, only available to those who preorder through the Kniteforce website. Wonderland is a whirlwind ride through dance music as heard through ABSOLUTE.’s ears: emotive house, hard-edged techno, divine disco, and euphoric rave bring the party, while more cerebral downtempo and textural ambient tracks wind things down. It’s party music for a time without parties, all shot through with McGinley’s message of hope and equality for all.  
 
Speaking on the Mixtape, ABSOLUTE. explains: “Writing this album brought me back to life, I was writing music that helped me feel certain ways, freedom and connectedness to something I and many others were missing, longing hard to be around people, or needing a dose of raw euphoric rave energy which gave some release at the sheer desperation to dance and feel joy. Even if just for a short time, to feel transported to 90’s UK raves or New York’s underground gave me some life, and I hope it does for you too. Welcome to Wonderland…” 
 
The mixtape album came to fruition as a result of the recent lockdown where ABSOLUTE., and the rest of the world, was forced to a standstill. Anthony was determined to turn his frustration into art and participated in a creative workshop that helped open his mind to new ideas, taking his music in exciting directions. The title of the mixtape takes its name from Wonderland Arena, a now obsolete rave space in East London that played host to live performances from the likes of Frankie Knuckles, The Prodigy, and Carl Cox during the halcyon days of acid house and early rave, and that is now converted into apartments where Anthony currently lives and works. 
 
ABSOLUTE. Is a project that has steadily gained momentum over the last couple of years, deftly choosing the right path for long term success rather than quick gains. Coming from the vibrant LGBTQ+ club and rave space where he promoted influential events in London, Anthony wanted to make sure foundations were solid before making the break into the live arena with this incredible body of work. He’s DJed at a wide array of parties and festivals from Glastonbury and Creamfields to Fabric and Razzmatazz but performing live has always been the goal. As lockdown came into effect he was packing his equipment to go on the road supporting dance legends 808 State on a 10 date UK tour.  
 
Despite a total shutdown of the live sector during the pandemic, Anthony still managed to perform his debut live set for Radio 1’s virtual Ibiza weekend during the summer and has just announced a headline live show at Islington’s assembly for March next year in partnership with underground gatekeepers Percolate. 
 
Alongside his musical accomplishments, Anthony is a passionate activist for human rights and has a longstanding track record of work supporting issues including climate, race, and LGBTQ+ justice. After attending the first Extinction Rebellion action in London, McGinley wrote “Rave Against the Machine”, a track that sampled a speech by Greta Thunberg which resulted in XR later inviting him to programme the music line-up of their International Rebellion at Trafalgar Square, while at Glastonbury, he played at Greenpeace’s Rave Tree.

Planet Mu is a label that has always survived on its own very independent terms. For 20 years it's existed both on the fringes and in the centre of emerging electronic music, from IDM and breakcore to dubstep and grime and lately to footwork, which it took a chance on, opening it up to the world through the two Bangs & Works compilations. It also has a strong history of connecting the dots in between those genres by supporting idiosyncratic artists, from label stalwart Venetian Snares to Kuedo, Machinedrum, Boxcutter, Vex'd, Falty DL, Luke Vibert, Ital, Jlin and Mr. Mitch to name just a few.

Run by Mike Paradinas, who under the name µ-Ziq was one of the first wave of producers pushing the musical envelope in the wake of house and techno's initial burst of inspiration, Planet Mu is an established engine of creativity and enquiry, with one foot in the pop world, and a sense of fun that never lets its experimentation disappear into exclusivity and snobbery.  

To celebrate their 20th Anniversary, Planet Mu have organised a 50-track, triple CD compilation of both old and new unreleased tracks and remixes packaged in a deluxe dvd-style boxset complete with a 110 page book charting the history of the label, with insight from artists and staff, written by electronic music writer Rory Gibb. 

The music on CDs one and two is mainly from the current decade, with contributions from Kuedo, Machinedrum, John Wizards, Ital Tek, Remarc, Boxcutter, RP Boo, John T. Gast, Jlin and new signing Herva to name but a few. They're colourful, broad and adventurous rides across the roster that will impress and excite any fan of electronic music and are a strong reminder of the consistent quality and broad mindedness of the label too. 

CD three features more of the older guard, dipping back into the roster from the late nineties and early 2000s with a range of noisier, knottier contributions from artists including Jega, Neil Landstrumm, Speedy J, Shitmat, Leafcutter John, Hellfish, Datach'i and Hrvatski, it's the perfect compilation for hardcore fans and a brilliant and friendly introduction to the label for curious newcomers too.

With the world in Covid-19 lockdown and the events industry stopped in its tracks, artists and online media like ourselves have been left financially vulnerable and, well...pretty bored. In an effort to alleviate both, Stamp The Wax launches Isolation Therapy, an emergency compilation built from scratch at lightning speed. 

We reached out to a bunch of friends who may need a hand, and gave them three days to make a track from scratch in isolation. 27 artists rose to the challenge and within a week from our first reach outs we were ready to go with masters (s/o Adam Scrimshire) and artwork (s/o Jess Ebsworth)⁣⁣. Final s/o to Aly Gilani for helping pull it all together. 

To provide artists with financial support as quickly as possible, royalty splits have been increased and accounting periods have been reduced to fortnightly during Coronavirus restrictions. Isolation Therapy will also provides much-needed funds for STW, having been hit heavily by the collapse of the events industry and postponement of all our media partnerships. If you can afford to buy the album, even if you don't like every track, it will be a massive support for independent journalism and go a long way to help us fight through this lockdown.⁣⁣

Kerrie made her impressive Cultivated Electronics Ltd debut in July with ‘We
Continue Part 1’ which has grabbed the attention of media and DJs alike,
recently featuring in DJ Mag’s Staff Picks amongst other accolades. She now
returns in September for Part 2.

This Irish born, Manchester based DJ and producer has been rising in the
ranks since first joining the Eastern Bloc crew and over time has taken her
analogue live shows to the likes of Freerotation and The Warehouse Project.
2021 has also seen the launch of her label, Dark Machine Funk Recordings
(DMF).

Kerrie makes her CE debut with the first of two EPs for their vinyl-only sister label, Cultivated Electronics Ltd.

Originating from Ireland, Kerrie made a move to the UK in 2010 settling in Manchester. She soon joined Eastern Bloc Records, spending her time behind the counter selling records before moving into the role of events coordinator in 2017. Honing her DJ skills through a residency at Eastern Bloc, Kerrie has gone on to be a regularly booked act for some of the UK & Ireland’s most prestigious underground club nights and recently made her Berlin and NYC debuts.

After a few of years of producing in the box Kerrie made a move to a hardware-only set-up in 2014 and since then has also taken her analogue live shows on the road to various events and festivals including Freerotation and The Warehouse Project. In 2017 she released her first track for I Love Acid’s 10th anniversary compilation, with a follow-up EP for them in 2020. She has also released an EP on Semtek’s inimitable Don’t Be Afraid and has recently started her own label, DMF with a string of releases lined up for this year.

‘We Continue Part 1’ is defined by Kerrie’s organic production style across its four tracks, bridging the gap between raw, driving tech and twisted electro with acid flourishes, tough beats and dark bass notes.
