“When I was asked to do the next installation of the Late Night Tales series I thought "This will be fun and easy, only a couple of days work. No problem!". Six months later, I was still pulling my hair out in some kind of quest to make the perfect mix. As someone who has never really done mixes before, I learned a lot of things along the way and the whole experience was very inspiring. I decided to approach the mix in a similar way as I would one of my scores. This is the soundtrack of my life. Blame It On the Youth

This is the single and opening track from the various artists album BBC Late Junction Sessions: Unpopular Music, released by Gearbox Records on 8 July 2016.

Just a few days after appearing on Late Junction’s stage at the Latitude Festival in 2015, the genre-busting singer-songwriter Eska paid a visit to Studio 3 with Jesse and Louis Hackett, both members of the Anglo- Kenyan project Owiny Sigoma Band. This family outfit took the opportunity to explore the instruments available on the premises which include grand piano, vibraphone and the famous Maida Vale celeste, all of which provide the foundation for this playful arrangement of a Jesse Hackett composition. Listen out for some experimental backing vocals from Eska and Jesse’s baby girl Wonder, in her Maida Vale recording debut.
