It is my great pleasure to announce the 15th episode of Nachtblumen courtesy of Hüseyin Evirgen also known as Magna Pia. He is one half of Cassegrain, and is working on his own solo material as Magna Pia since 2016.

He studied composition, piano and electronic music at the University of Istanbul and Mozarteum Salzburg. He has composed music for theatre, dance performances and mixed media for almost two decades. 

As Magna Pia, Hüseyin Evirgen focuses on providing combative dance floor trips and unorthodox sonic moods with subtle 90s techno references while he keeps his interest in combining contemporary techno music with archaic symbolism. His solo releases include EPs on Soma Records, his debut album on Feral Note and his solo release on Arcing Seas.

In his set for Nachtblumen, Hüseyin delivers a very dynamic and diverse story, in which one can clearly hear how perfectly in control he is of every element. This hour is a great representation of what I love about the sound of Magna Pia – it’s deep, dark, emotional, driving and it can hypnotise you into a relentless state of dancing for your mind and body. After a short break we’re back with the 4th episode of the series and proudly featuring our first external guest Jephta. The Amsterdam-based artist is one of the founders of the Embodiment crew that held some big events in Rotterdam already. Jephta’s sound is dominated by deep and ambient-ish soundscapes based on deep-tuned kickdrums and linear drum patterns. While gently charging through various moods his style and mixing always remain steady, persistent and clinical.

Chloe Lula talks to Regis (Karl O’Connor), discussing what he thinks about the album 20 years after its initial release; his creative process; and his recent and forthcoming projects, which include a collaboration with Einstürzende Neubauten’s recording engineer. Their conversation is followed by a one-hour DJ set recorded live when O’Connor played at Tresor in 2019.

The reissue of 'Againstnature' is now out.

Su proyecto y foco musical deja en evidencia el objetivo de sumergir al oyente en su campo semántico, yendo desde lo psíquico y cerebral, hasta lo mas sci-fi de pista mediante sus producciones y sesiones.

Pulso forma parte de la gran escena argentina dejando legados musicales en sellos de renombre como Subsist, Semantica, Float, Antiterra, Mindtrip, KEY Vinyl y en su propia firma SRIE, donde en cada release junto a Translate, entregan música de calidad y concepto, dando lugar a los mejores artistas que oscilan dentro del marco de su sonido.

Desde fines del 2022 nace una nueva etiqueta que se dedica a la manufacturación de cassettes y CDs llamada "Histéresis" donde, junto a su colega Uma Soundsystem, Pulso realiza el puesto de mastering (Digital y Cassette) y material gráfico para cada edición, las cuales se producen de forma casera y manual y se entregan a todo el mundo; dichas ediciones se pueden encontrar en su Bandcamp oficial (/Pulsojoel) y en la cuenta oficial de Histéresis.

En paralelo a su música y su estilo minimalista de trabajo, Joel Pulso desarrolla artes de tapa bajo el nombre de Fractales DIY, anteriormente editorial de fanzines y libros artesanales, hoy en día fábrica que escupe los collages analógicos mas crudos y surrealistas que forman parte del catálogo que define a su visión como artista.

Michał Macewicz has been active as a DJ since 2006. He is a resident of the Ciało club in Wrocław and have performed numerous times at festivals and events dedicated to electronic and experimental music. His sets are unpredictable, hypnotic and full of experiments.

From 2016 to 2023, one of the members of the SLAP collective, was responsible for providing unforgettable experiences through the excellent sound of the sound system and finding unique event venues.

In 2022, he created the Sound Experience brand, where he designs audio installations in clubs and sophisticated places that focus on the best sound. At SE, he also works as an electronics technician servicing music equipment.

Recently, he expanded his activities with the SOUND EXPERIENCE SOUNDSYSTEM rental. Since 2022, he has been teaching DJing at the Instytut Dźwięku in which he shares his knowledge and experience with young adepts.

His initial fascination with electronic music began thanks to artists like Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, and Mike Oldfield, and in the mid-90s, he started listening to Trance and Acid. Soon, he became strongly influenced by techno music, his quintessential style, with figures like Dave Clarke, Jeff Mills, Claude Young, and Oscar Mulero leaving a lasting impact on his career. With his skill and great dexterity on the decks, he became a reference in the Galician music scene.

Techno and vinyl are synonymous with life for him. Over the years, he has shared the stage with prominent figures in the national and international music scene, both within Spain and beyond its borders.

In 2007, he joined forces with De Oliveira for Delirium Tremens, a very compact and avant-garde project that combined live performances with DJ sets and/or 4 decks + 2 mixers. They released references on labels such as Mastertraxx, Naked Lunch, or Infecta.

In 2013, he co-founded the Galician collective 12-inch with Inopia, a family of vinyl and analog sound enthusiasts. They organize various events and raves where vinyl takes center stage. He is also responsible for the Archaic Podcasts, a series of sets recorded for the collective by diverse artists, predominantly featuring analog sound in the form of DJ sets or live performances, with the collaboration of artists from around the world. In 2019, they launched the vinyl label: Archaic Print, with 4 releases to date.

Altinbas is a key figure of the Brussels techno scene. He's often seen behind the decks of C12 or Fuse. He’s been an emerging artists in the techno scene for a few years now. You might have heard the EP the Belgian artist released on Non Series: Layers of Compassion.
Aside from his role as DJ and producer, Altinbas also runs a recently started club-concept in Brussels, called Metropolis, where he invites many of the best deep techno artists across Europe.
