The funky bulldozer of techno (as some like to call him) created three tracks especially for our tenth birthday: bass-heavy, cold and groovy, minimal and funky at the same time: thank you Myk!

Junodownload Review: Myk Derill has been releasing music on Knotweed for a decade, and Suburban Depth sees him showcase his creativity once again. The title track is a low-slung affair, with Derill dropping lead-weight kicks and snappy percussion to create a distinctive, hypnotic track. In stark contrast is "Route Network", where the Knotweed staple drops a gritty, visceral groove that resounds to firing hi hats and noisy, analogue riffs. Derill makes another radical shift in direction on "21 Floor"; featuring deep chords and mysterious vocals combined with dubbed out drums, it is similar to the type of deep house you'd hear on a Detroit label like Sistrum.

PLTM014 is our first EP this year, a split EP between Label Owner FLAWS and Underground Minneapolis based prodigy Lonefront

Lonefront featured on ‘Formed Ethics’ with his track ‘Carnivalesque’ back in February earlier this year, Since then he has been on a momentous journey developing his craft, especially his drifting live sets, Recently playing at Reform Curated by DVS1 in Los Angeles. Ross (His real name) embodies an incredibly compassionate approach towards music, focusing on his niche of rhythm and flowing synthesis, his sound can be easily identified as the name that is Lonefront.

With this being FLAWS’s Second EP this year it is a special one for him pairing up with Lonefront on his home label. FLAWS has been observant and productive in this timezone, reforming his sound and vision as he enters the new period of Electronic Music. Constantly on the search for knowledge and light, it leads him to many exciting projects, some to be announced later this year.

"The ever-prolific Brendon Moeller returns with a third EP for Knotweed under his Echologist alias, treading the line between glitchy minimal, propulsive techno and dubwise immersion with flair and poise. There are some powerful, deeply submerged kicks to be enjoyed on 'Activation', but they're not just deployed as standard. On 'Concentrate' they might be more prominent, but still there's a sense of confident restraint in which Moeller can create captivating energy and a full-frequency experience without resorting to obvious tactics. For those who favour something a little more stimulating and subtle from their techno experience, this EP has everything you need."
