We're a three piece band with part-timers who sit in on occasion (formerly Skiprope Cello. Same band, revised name). We're currently working on our 3rd album (1st full length) to be released on Bandcamp to be entitled "Vanity Fair." Watch for pre-releases soon. See Bandcamp link below.  

We're avid readers, so lyrics are often based on books.  Genre is eclectic mix of alternative, lo-fi, techno, lounge, punk-jazz of the 1920s/30s variety. We are from both California and the Midwest (Iowa), United States. Our influences include: Cole Porter, Dostoevsky, Steely Dan, F.S. Dead Hippie Squadron is the solo project of the Vancouver based composer, multi-instrumentalist and recording artist Julian Michal Zembrowski. 

Dead Hippie Squadron encompasses the full breadth of Julian's knowledge and musical experiences. Drawing upon a wide range of influences D.H.S. weaves a unique sound that never shies away from being unconventional and experimental. Julian has a long relationship with the guitar, though he mainly focuses on composition and electronic instrumentation. Dead Hippie Squadron's mission is producing ethereal, mystical and unheard of soundscapes and songs that attempt to transcend the seemingly unending normalcy we quietly and persistently endure. D.H.S.' mission: Recreating styles, confusing borders and glimpsing past the mundane; looking upwards toward greater forms of thought and existence.

I make a lot of music, most of which will never be heard. Everyone seems to have support pages these days, so I am making one where I will support other artist and myself. I will also post my off the wall experiments that tend to never get heard. This is not like my WIP page. The music here may or may not be good. Its me just messing around.
