Stitches that are meant to tear is a work dedicated to the indivisibility of time, to the irreducible, always elusive, temporal flux. Nevertheless, It is a work that actively attempts to untether the temporal lattice by revealing its stitches, in their most raw form.
The sonic creatures that inhabit this piece are not limited to the instrumental realm- they are in constant flux, transitioning from instruments to objects, from acoustic to electronic sound, and from the gestural to the disembodied.

Recordings of solo improvised performances from the summer of 2023 between the Bay Area/USA and Bahia/Brazil. All involving different setups of prepared electric guitar, objects, and electronics.

Description: pre-recorded no-input mixer improvised performance (level one of improvisation) acting as the carrier signal in a real-time cross-synthesis system being modulated by a live improvised scordatura electric guitar performance (level 2 of improvisation), plus a multichannel sine tone machine with an inverted envelope follower reacting to the cross-synth output.
