Song notes: This song was primarily inspired by the famous parable, "The Prodigal Son", as found in Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32. I'd also like to thank and acknowledge Rev. A few folks have observed recently that despite being a Christian who works in ministry by way of the Episcopal Church, I don't consider myself a "Christian artist" as a part of the Contemporary Christian genre. This is an intentional choice on my part, as I aim to write more universal and (hopefully) relatable songs that reach and stretch beyond solely my own faith and traditions via the more generic "Singer-Songwriter" genre. That said, I do occasionally write songs that reflect my personal faith and the stories I was raised with. This is one of them.
