This release features 9 original tracks and a bonus track, “Spira Mirablis” - currently featured in the MTV/Harmonix iPod video game “Phase.” The concept for the record was born of a series of photographs, each one serving as a springboard for the music.  The album explores how images of environments, landscapes, people, and objects are used to evoke musical ideas; each image giving rise to various rhythms, chords, and sonic textures.  The photos were taken in Italy, China, Japan, Switzerland, & around the US.  The CD release has a deluxe package that includes an expanded booklet featuring all 9 photos.

BANG! Time for me to add a new EP to my discography! I think the following statement made by The Pirate Bay in January explains very well what #digitalfreedom is all about:
''Over a century ago Thomas Edison got the patent for a device which would "do for the eye what the phonograph does for the ear". He called it the Kinetoscope. He was not only amongst the first to record video, he was also the first person to own the copyright to a motion picture.

Because of Edison's patents for the motion pictures it was close to financially impossible to create motion pictures in the North American east coast. The movie studios therefor relocated to California, and founded what we today call Hollywood. The reason was mostly because there was no patent. Brendan Angelides is a Los Angeles-based electronic music producer who records and performs live as Eskmo. His multi-genre compositions have been featured on influential labels like Ninja Tune, Warp Records and Planet Mu. While Angelides’ tracks encompass a wide range of electronic styles, he avoids classifications. Much like his previous releases, ‘Language’ is reflective and constantly exploring new terrain. The album cover, which was created by Trek Matthews for the project, shows the Egyptian god Thoth who is the master of writing, magic, science and healing. Above him are the merging of sun and moon and Ouroboros. The themes within the tracks range from the Self to relationship, fear, nostalgia and the sonic interpretation of not folding as expressed in “World of Dread.” The ‘Language’ EP oozes classic Eskmo textures while diving into emotive rushes, minimally avante-pop melodies and chunky dance aesthetics turned on their head.

His 2010 self-titeld full-length, released on Ninja Tune, was described by Future Sequence as “Create(ing) his own sound.” and BBC Music noted the album as “Electrifyingly enveloping…Mind-melting invention.” Ninja Tune recording artist and film composer Amon Tobin hailed his work as “some of the best production I’ve heard in recent times” in 2009. Shortly thereafter, the pair teamed up to release a collaborative project under the name ESKAMON on Eskmo’s own record label, Ancestor, in early 2010. The ‘Language’ EP is the latest Eskmo release on Ancestor since his collaboration with Tobin.

One of the standout tracks on April's Silk Royal Showcase 03 compilation was "Mirage", produced by breakthough Latvian duo Blood Groove & Kikis. On our latest single, we are thrilled to present a full version of this track, along with a peak-hour interpretation by Jaytech, one of our imprint's original inspirations. Regularly featured on Above & Beyond's "Group Therapy" radio show, Jaytech had the opportunity to debut this track himself, during his featured guest mix on the show's 25th episode.

Blood Groove & Kikis offer a gorgeous slice of "vintage" deep and melodic progressive house, with their stunning Original Mix. The track centers on a powerful bassline progression and a hypnotic side-chained pad. As the build nears the main break, a gorgeous main chord progression trickles into the mix and begins to crescendo. This euphoric and infectious theme will remain with you long after the song's completion.

Jaytech is now one of the most celebrated progressive artists in the world, as well as an exceedingly accomplished international DJ. His uplifting interpretation - the sole remix offered here - illustrates the great "expertise" he has garnered from years on the road as a DJ. Specifically, this rendering will no doubt have you moving from start to finish, as the punchy kick and snare, coupled with a robotic bassline, prove to be an adrenaline-fueled combination. One of the great highlights, as to be expected, is the main break, which not only features the original bassline sequence, but also signature vox stabs, which pave the way for a dancefloor-killing drop.

Kodomo is moniker for electronic music producer and composer Chris Child.  Kodomo’s work spans several genera’s and can be cinematic, dance driven, and dreamlike, with roots in IDM, minimalism, techno, and various styles of ambient music.  Child is also an Emmy award winning TV composer and has contributed music for a handful of games developed by Harmonix.  His music is regularly featured on NPR news shows.
