I am a mother & transdisciplinary artist, whose practice scopes across
ecological sonic systems, landscape memory, earth body/spirit work and
transmutation. Which aims to heal the creative wounding, by
dismantling colonial weights that distort afrocentric art modalities, while
critiquing anthropocentrism from a decolonial lens, highlighting
interconnectivity, indigenous technology & environmental caretaking.
An invitation for nature to intervene, reminding us that our bodies are
scared. The body's inherent ability to heal itself is nature's sophisticated
intelligence at play. This mirror is a reminder that our anthropocentric
belief that we are exempt from nature, is in fact a condition that hinders
self-replenitive efforts extending beyond the physical surface. The spirit
itself intuitively guides us to still places which speak of the living earth, its
history and our birth right of transcending beyond suffering. Healing is an
invitation to remember the nature within our own bodies - this is where
we begin. The intersection of human rights and environmental issues,
intrinsically intertwined and entangled with colonial residues.
