'Walking Tree' was written in the early 90s when I was living in a teepee in the forest. One day on my way to the spring the beech trees sang this song to me. I introduced it to the European Rainbow Family and it became very popular. It has been sung since then in international Rainbow Gatherings, festivals, kinder gardens, schools, universities and in ceremonies worldwide. The song has been translated into different languages. 

Today the Amazonian Rainforests are burning and this song is inviting us to remember more than ever that without the trees no life is possible for us on this planet. The forests are our lungs and the trees give us oxygen and breath of life besides food and medicine. 

The earth is our body and what we do to her we do to ourselves and the future generations. We cant afford to cut any more trees on this planet. It is suicidal and self-destructive. We are called to step into guardianship of the trees of life and the living earth for our children and the future generations.
