from the mountains of the norwegian fjords we sail across the german ocean. along the dutch coast we were looking for a sea route to expand into the belgian region flanders. aye. after 3 days we finally found a way to a bay and therefore the mouth of the river Maas. empty gin-barrels and bad weather make the crew feeling sad and we longed eagerly to the end of that journey. so finally we sailed quickly as possible bout the Maas and the Albert Canal to Hasselt - the home of https://soundcloud.com/dauwmuziek . he and his partner in crime https://soundcloud.com/schemering have taken up the new seasidetrip mix - truly a »sundowner«. your captain https://soundcloud.com/rolandson shall refuel the gin-barrels while Dauw & Schemering present their mix - Aye!

With this mindset we carefully compiled this mix on a sweaty Belgian summer evening. Getting on board of @Rolandson ’s boat gave us the opportunity to explore a slightly broader range of styles, older and new, to converge them in one point in time.. the continuum, the moment that you’ll be experiencing it.

Everyday the sun rises and sets, above and below the sea level. We’ve gathered different sounds and feelings to express this ever recurring and infinite beautiful event. The one thing in life we can be pretty sure of, even when we’re not observing it. You’ll find yourself melting under a palmtree sipping a Sundowner. Operating a submarine observing mysterious sea creatures at unknown depths. Or dancing on Rolandson ‘s deck among drunk exotic women wearing seashells.

To cover this broad spectrum we made some winks to our own musical roots combining Trip­Hop, IDM, Dub, Lounge and (Deep)House, while trying to keep that contemporary and sensitive sound which we are known for.

We hope you’ll enjoy this ride as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.

Bassalpin, the slow rider of the southern alps electronic music scene. A passionate wine lover, formerly based in the Viennese techno underground playing sets as “Kollektiv Bassalpin”. Nowadays his music can no longer be defined by one category:  hs DJ sets are journeys into organic and bass driven sounds mixing World, Afro, Techno, House, Dub and sometimes Disco. His music tells stories by attracting contrasts all around a slower pace, true to his motto: down with the tempo so there is more time to dance!
