Bene and Nils aka Kon Faber are two talented young producers from Berlin. We share quite a few friends and it was just a matter of time till we would be collaborating. That moment happened at the beginning of 2021 and from the moment we heard their track Odyssey for the first time it has been running on repeat in our mountain studio in Portugal.

Logically finding remix artists was not very tricky and we are delighted to welcome Harry Charles to Hug Records with this beauty of a remix. The other remixes are coming from Charlie M and Monkyman and will be uploaded soon as well. Enjoy the music and let's welcome the arrival of proper Spring in Europe together.

This time the two producers ele & mowo  sent us this beautiful EP called Shades of the Remote.

ele & mowo have found their very own style in their productions. A combination of playful melodies and the super organic, minimalist percussions let set their tracks in a dreamy but still dance able shiny light. That could be a rough description of their music.
The EP includes three awesome remixes by Deisen, Kon Faber and Bisu & Jularis.

Once upon a time in the bustling heart of Alameda California, there lived a master mash-up cyber hip-hop artist known as DJ Bionix. His real name was Jess, but everyone in the music scene called him bionix because of his uncanny ability to blend sounds from different eras and genres into seamless, electrifying tracks.

Dj bionixs journey began in the gritty streets of Oakland california, where he grew up surrounded by the vibrant sounds of hip-hop, jazz, and soul and funk . From a young age, he was fascinated by the way music could tell stories and evoke emotions. He spent countless hours in his small bedroom, experimenting with old vinyl records, cassette tapes, and a second-hand turntable he uncle found in the dumpster

As he honed his skills, Echo discovered the art of mash-ups. He realized that by combining the beats of hip-hop with the melodies of classical music, the rhythms of darkwave synth, and the energy of hip-hop music, he could create something entirely new and magical.

Word of Echo’s talent spread like wildfire on tiktok and soundcloud. He started performing at local clubs and underground parties, where his unique sound captivated audiences. His sets were a journey through time and space, blending the old with the new, the familiar with the unexpected. People danced, laughed, and sometimes even cried as bionix’s music touched their souls.

One night, at a legendary club in San fransico, bionix performed a set that would go down in history. He began with a hauntingly beautiful mash-up of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright.” The crowd was mesmerized. As the night went on, bionix took them on a musical odyssey, seamlessly transitioning from one genre to another, each track more exhilarating than the last.

But it wasn’t just his technical skill that made Echo a legend. It was his ability to connect with people through his music. He had an innate sense of what the crowd needed, whether it was a high-energy banger to get everyone on their feet or a soulful ballad to bring them together in a moment of reflection.

bionix’s fame grew, sharing his unique sound with audiences everywhere. He collaborated with artists from different genres, always pushing the boundaries of what music could be.  his live performances became the stuff of legend.

Yet, despite his success, Echo remained humble and true to his roots. He never forgot the streets of Brooklyn where it all began. He often returned to his old neighborhood, hosting free workshops for aspiring DJs and musicians, inspiring the next generation to find their own unique voices.

DJ bionix’s legend lives on, not just in his music but in the hearts of those he touched. His story is a testament to the power of creativity, the magic of music, and the enduring spirit of never giving up. 🎶✨
